Maybe the fan dosen't use that much power. Do you know how much power it consumes in s3 with the fan?

Are there any benchmarks for this board anywhere? I would like to see how it compares to my Nano 10000.

I think Sonicxtacy02 means in the $399 kit this thread is about. Yes, there will be DC supply w/ shutdown controller.

Why oh why would you want a mini-itx board that uses a SIS chipset?

    SIS Chipset = SIS Graphics = SIS Mirage 2 = ****E

Honestly, I know comparing SIS graphics to say Nvidia is like comparing apples to oranges, however when comparing SIS graphics to VIA's, it's clear that VIA have a better product out!

I can understand its cheap, heck, I'm broke most of the time, but really, when you have to resort to this, it's time you saved up!

And before I get a deluge of posts correcting me, that your not supposed to play games on this, I know that, when playing movies or using a front end that is graphically intense, the graphics chip will get the CPU to do most of the work, which means that your overall experience will not be that good!

Yes the CPU will run "faster" than a VIA C7, but you have to remember this is intel we are talking about! Since when have you seen VIA make any decent powerfull CPU's?

Oh and btw, normally in S3 state, the fan's turn off........then again, another member reported that it doesn't support S3.....which is kind of strange considering its been designed quite recently.........

I'm half asleep when im typing this, so scuse the typos and what-nots.

P.s, I would love it, if AMD would make a mini-itx multimedia motherboard.....think about it, ATi graphics onboard! Now that would be sweet!
The best intel can do, is integrate their own graphics core in, which is like SIS's but in all honesty, still beats SIS's hands down!

I'm gonna risk being yelled at for going off topic but - The VIA based boards are obscenely over priced. I'm not saying they're bad I'm just saying crazy expensive. Hopefully the competition drives the price down to something at least reasonable.

The VIA boards are a tad bit over-priced, but that's just because there is no competition from any other motherboard manufacturers, that have similar features.

Luckily for us, there will be a motherboard hitting the shelves shortly from Albatross, the KI690-AM2 and the KI690-S1. These motherboards are fully integrated mini-atx motherboard designed for AMD motherboards, which will have ATi's graphics onboard, and decent graphics at that too with a x1250 graphics core embedded, which should be powerfull enough to run Farcry and the like!
The KI690-AM2 uses a AMD desktop processor while the KI690-S1 will use a AMD Laptop processor.

If these Motherboards are a hit, I have had exclusively news from Albatross, the next generation mini-itx motherboards will feature a MXM port, so you can upgrade the graphics with a Laptop's graphics card Crysis anyone??

I only do Centrafuse, IE, GPS..No movies,games,etc... But i do multitask.
