    Redesign The Main Site!

Tired of how the main site looks? Think you can do better? Here's your chance to prove it!

I've been in discussion with MooN and he agreed that the main site needs a new look. Here's the problem, MooN's a busy guy. So he's agreed to let our happy family take a stab at it. Not a web designer? No problem, suggestions are always needed, so post 'em here. These suggestions are for the MAIN site only, not the board.

    Here's the rules:
There must be a section for products, like there is now.
    Nothing offensive or dreogitory.
    Try to keep it professional.
Try not to rip off the work of other sites. Lets be original.
If you do decide to use Flash, make a non-flash site as well. Need to keep the site accessable.

    Heres what you do:
Submit an outline for the sites flow and construction. You can either e-mail it to me or post it as an attachment here.

Things I would like to see:
A nice link to the project database.
    A section for FAQ's.
Maybe a "Project of the Month" area.
A more prominet link to the forum.
Please don't use a ton of frames.
No pop ups. (People hate those.)

Lets see what we can do people, but know that I am not the final judge. That's reserved for MooN. It is HIS site after all.

Do you know if Moon has PHP and MySQL installed on mp3car.com. I'll need them for my site design.

I only code in ASP and I love it. I never got the hang of PHP, and it seemed just about everything that can be done in PHP can also be done in ASP (as far as what I need it to do). I know the usersites have ASP support since that is what I have my sites using, so I was just wondering if the main site was able to use ASP or if it was on a different server.

kind of teasing, kind of serious

Not a big microsoft fan for one, and as a web hosting company, web developer, and custom application developer, PHP is our heaven. ASP has its quirks...like any software...I just tend to pick on ASP more because its microsoft :-)

ASP has holes in security as well...what microsoft product doesn't.

    :-)

    I have coded in ASP also...its pretty decent...like I said...just kind of teasing! :-)

Totally agreed, however if mp3car.com wants to use any of the content from my site I don't mind, it's just little s**ts that rip off my entire site without careing which upset me.

As anyone who's seen my site will know I have all the artistic flair of a pile of mud, but I'm a great believer in content, so I'll happilly right stuff, althought someone will need to apply a dyslexic filter to it
And you say people actually pay money for M$ Windows?

Total re-design underway: on the whole progress is very slow as the car is taking up too much time :)
