So go into UserCP and turn that option off.
I don't always want to subscribe to every thread I reply on.
By default, when replying to a post, the check box is checked identifying the thread to be added to your subscription list.

By default, I like having it on. A quick checkbox at the quick reply box w/ the option to sub or not would save steps of posting, reloading and unsub'ing...
I mean, there's a check box for your sig...why not sub'ing?

Nope - no admin any more, just a mod.
In order to make any of these changes, you have to be an admin who is willing to spend the time to research a solution.
As a general rule, it's not a good idea to make random mods and have no way to guarantee support a year down the road, unlike mods that are posted to the vBulletin.org site....even if that developer drops off the face of the planet, you can still get community support.
