I've read so many threads about people seeking help and yet not providing enough information for others to help. I'll include some recent threads to illustrate what I'm talking about. Before I do, I just want to say that I'm not flaming you or putting you down if I list your thread. I'm sure I've done it too. But I do try to include all the informations when I can.

App to slow down your CD-ROM or DVD drive
What make and model is it? This is something we like to know b/c some people may want to avoid the DVD drive due to noise. Or maybe you just got a defective one and not know it.

All I'm saying is that when you have a problem, please let us know EXACTLY what you're talking about. You can point us to a link, show us a pic, or just list exact make and model, bio version, software name, version. Please don't just say "My computer is bad, how do I fix it"

While most of the threads and posts are pretty clear on the descriptions like Defiler's cellphone thread (He listed the service, the plan, town name, exact model of cell phone, where to download the software and where to buy the data cable to achieve high speed Internet connection in a car PC though in different posts.)Free wireless internet for my car... the ones with little or no descriptions are the ones thats driving me crazy. Ok I'm gonna stop talking now and go put on my anti flaming suit.

Some of those posts weren't problems, they were suggestions and helpful links (eg, the DVD slowing down one). I'm guessing the point of the post wasn't to highlight that a particular drive was noisy, but to spread the news about the software that can slow it down. This will help quieten down most drives.

There is a lot of information here, but you're expected to search. Posting every possible angle on every post is going to bloat the forum somewhat, and make it harder to find the information you're after (imho).

Yes, half of this stuff you can figure out by searching the mp3car forums. So what you're telling me is if I want to help you, I have to do a search just to know what you're talking about? If I don't know what you're describing, then I'll most likely not gonna go through the trouble of searching just to see what you're talking about. It's basically I'm doing the search for you. Which means you didnt do the search yourself.

AHLU posted an USB GPS receiver that he saw at CES. It's a pretty useless post because the only useful information he provided was that it's USB and it cost 99 with software.

Yes you're expected to search if you're looking for solutions to your problems but not when you're trying to help someone. And yes, I did a search on "timeline" and turn up tons of threads. So far I couldnt find one with links. www.timeline-inc.com is not much more than just timeline.
