if you look at the date line in the bottome right of the message there is a little check mark.. yellow means new, purple means old.
I suppose there is room for improvement though![]()
I've recently noticed a rather neat feature on one other forum that I frequent. www.bikeforums.net
in each thread, there is a yellow cartoon looking "NEW" in front of each message that has been added since your last visit. it is a pretty nice feature, if you are following a thread that you are not subscribed to. it helps u pick up where you left off the last time you reviewed the messages, basically the same as the thread updated icon on the main page, but a little more in-depth.
i dont know aobut anyone else, but if it isnt too hard, i would like to see it implemented here... im pretty sure they run VBB on bike forums, but i could be wrong.
any thoughts???

Yeah all you would have to do is replace the gif file. I use the search for new post button top right corner. It works like a charm.
actually... that little check mark in the indication that the person who composed the reply is online.... not whether the reply is new.Originally posted by ShinkunoNamida

the tiny little paper looking thing to the left of the date is the "new reply" indicator...
