i assume the newbies be granted reading access to the "regular" forums. im mean, there will be no way to relegate them to their own forum completely on their own.

plus, what or who is to decide when someone can graduate up to the regular forum. is it based on post count (think of skinny and his number of posts), or on time since joining?

im not trying to debunk this idea, just playing devil's advocate and putting up ideas from both sides.

    post count = no

i think more of how well they are interacting or searching and such

It's not my intention keep newbies in their own section, they will be allowed to post in all sections. My idea is create a safe environment an area to cater to the type of person who would rather ask questions then do a lot of searching/reading.

I understand that some newbies are quite advanced and no one will be confined to a particular section.

alright... that sounds good. i think i was missing that aspect of the idea. it may just grow into a working FAQ section, kinda like the one that everyone wants to write, but is too *ahem* lazy to do so (myself included).
