Can we have a wireless internet/communication section

A bunch of us think we should have a wireless internet/communication section. This will cover internet access via cellphones, 802.11X, cellphone bluetooth connections and controls.

I’m for something like that. However there are two clearly different things here. One is wireless Internet, usually provided by cell phone companies. The other is the 802.x wireless networks which are “hotspots” or provided by individuals who run their own wireless access points.

How would wireless internet be differentiated from wireless LANs? Should they be kept separate or allowed to blur together? I don’t want people to confuse the two.

Zip Lock, what about a Comms section like the Software area and the 2 sub sections ? That been said I think most of the traffic will be on the WIFI hot spot stuff so may be one genral area and one specific host spot area...

Being new to war driving does any one know if there are any legal implications - ie if you talk about specific hot spots and not the technology ?

I think "Wireless Internet" should do just fine by itself. I have faith in people not being idiots and cant distinguish between the 2.
If you must, you can have "Communications" as the main forum to discuss integrating communication devices to CarPC and "Cellphone Internet", "WiFi Interent" as sub forum for using either 2 to get on the internet while traveling.
In the "OBD-II" forum, we got people posting about none OBD's and OBD-I's and pre OBD's.
In "Software Developements" you got the general discussions and "MediaCar", "MediaEngine" subforum for those discussions.
