    Regional Forum

I think it would be beneficial to have a regional section where there are different forums for the different regions of the U.S and world. This would allow people to ask for help on a local level. This could facilitate the organization of meetings and allow members near each other to help out with setting up carputer systems, etc. Here's a potential list I found on a BMW forum (Bimmerforums.com).

Forums for each of the following Regions: California
    Great Lakes - US (IL,IN,MI,MN,OH,WI)
Great Plains & Rocky Mountains - US (CO,IA,KS,MO,MT,ND,NE,SD,WY)
    Middle Atlantic - US (DC,DE,MD,PA,VA,WV)
New England - US (MA,ME,NH,RI,VT), New York / New Jersey / Connecticut
    Pacific Northwest - US (AK,HI,ID,OR,WA)
    Southeast - US (AR,AL,GA,FL,KY,LA,MS,NC,SC,TN)
    Southwest - US (AZ,NM,NV,OK,TX,UT)
Australia / New Zealand, Canada, and Europe

So after 17 posts you want to add 9 forum sections? And i find those selections a bit bias, i'd say theres more interest in the UK alone (letalone europe) than any of the single US regions you've chosen. Dont see y advice has to be regional either, and if it does i dont see why it needs its own section.

I wasn't implying that the advice had to be regional. I just thought it might be beneficial for setting up regional meets, installation help between members and help people get a sense for where people are from.

It was just a suggestion so no need to be hostile with comments like "So after 17 posts you want to add 9 forum sections?"

After I posted this I realized that most people looking to meet others post in the MP3 Car Gatherings section and since there aren't a whole lot of threads in that section it probably works best.

I just posted to see what kind of response it would get and whether others thought it was a good idea.
So far, it looks doubtful . Oh well, just trying to be helpful.

I don't think it would be a good idea. I wouldn't want to go through, lets say 9 hardware forums when I can go through 1 now. I just think it would be too much trouble.

Texas is big enough to warrant its own regional forum.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

there is really nothing here that requires a regional forum. the only thing that comes to mind is organizing a meet... and there is already a forum for that.

its not like the hardware changes when you go from the midwest to the west coast.

I also fail to see how these countries, seperated by thousands of miles on THREE continents could be classified under one "region".
The UK is the exact antipode of NZ (i.e. they're exact opposites on the globe) - they couldn't be any further apart!
