    New Selling System

Nothing is worse than getting trolled.
and whats worse is, those of us that get trolled lose faith even in members that are legit sellers.
I really think its time there is a policy that ur only allowed to sell if u (not based on number of posts only) but number of transactions u have made with other members, since when u have been a memeber, and an approval from an admin to sell.
my 2 cents, and feed back from someone that got trolled by an arsole.

    Caveat emptor.

You could always ask people to make the sale through ebay, I believe you can set up a one to one sale even if it costs a few dollars, then you have some recourse. If you base the right to sell on how many sales people have made then you'll never be allowed to sell as you can never make your first sale.

If you feel you can demonstrate you are more trustworth than the seller ask them to ship before you pay, let them take the risk, or arrange a payment on deliver or escrow type service.

Bottom line, yes it sucks, but we all need to look out for ourselves, it's a harsh world.

    Chris.

I can understand your point, but remember that this is a privately run site & as such, they do not even have to have the classified sub-forum. It's here as a convenience to members. Asking the admins to supervise these transactions may well result in the deletion of said sub-forum. As ukchris suggested, if in doubt you can always request that the seller post an eBay auction for the item...Remember that nothing is 100% safe, especially when dealing w/ online transactions...

dont get me wrong, am not demanding or anything
a suggestion, as it is posted in the suggestion forum.
the admins are doing more than a fine job running this site, just wish they would explore alternatives for the classified section because that section is a big part of this community, through it we are able to get hardware we require with information. etc.

No offense intended on my part. I just wanted to make it clear that this site does not have to offer the classified feature at all. The admins do a great job already, let's try to take it upon ourselves to avoid extra work for them. If that means refraining from the "to good to be true" deal, or making detailed arrangements so that one does not get burned, then so be it...

I guess just be careful, use common sense when purchasing from a private seller and also, be careful what you wish for, b/c it may not turn out as you expect...

I suggested having a seller feedback/rating system specific to mp3car. Like when you click a persons avatar to view their profile it would show their feedback and show the rating. And where your avatar is displayed on the forums it would have a little meter/progress bar with your rating. It would be easy to do, and since they are already working on improving the site it would be a good thing to add.
CarPC install is starting to come along again...

I suggested something similar (rating sub-forum) a while ago...Never got off the ground though. I think like one person was for it...

Getting an approval from the admin to sell could put the admin on the hook as well for a transactions that went bad. You would then have people saying since the admins approved the seller and the deal went bad, then they should be responsible. So I don't think thats happening.
