MUST READ: Forum Rules

Because of the large influx of new users of this forum, I thought it prudent to post a set of general forum guidelines. These will help eliminate some of the problems we have been having recently, and make it a more enjoyable forum experience for all. Please feel free to post your responses and opinions, as these guidelines are a work in progress and will only evolve through your involvement.

Now, on with the show.

1. No personal attacks of any kind. This forum has always been a nice place to visit, and let's keep it that way. This means that there are to be no flame wars, topics started with the specific purpose to put someone else down, etc. Such posts will be closed immediately, or, if the situation warrants, deleted completely.

2. Please keep the "me too" postings to a minimum. . This does not mean that you can't post your agreement on a subject, but posts containing such simple statements are unnecessary, and clutter things up.

3. Profanity is not necessary. Unlike a lot of the other forums on the Net, this forum has always contained relatively clean language. There are very few circumstances where profanity is actually warranted, so it should not be a stretch to keep the language clean. Normally, the poster of objectionable content will get a warning and be asked to edit the post.

4. Please use the Search feature. I cannot stress this enough. Please use the Search feature before you make a post asking a question. This is especially true if you are a new user. You will find that common questions have been answered several times already. Not only will you get a speedier response, but the other members will not become frustrated answering your question yet again.

5. The "Off-Topic" forum is just that, off topic. This forum is designed for things that don't fit into any other categories. For example, posting jokes, pictures of your new pet alligator, the night you spent with Britney Spears, etc. Being off topic, this forum has a few looser rules than the others, but people are still expected to behave in a respectable manner.

6. No porn. Period. I don't think this needs an explanation. If you want porn, there are a lot of other forums that contain copious amounts. The Honda Tuner forum at http://www.clubsi.com is the first one that comes to mind.

7. Moderators will become more active. Very simply, this forum is expanding with a great number of new users. Because of this, it looks like the moderators may need to step up a little and become involved. This means that topics will be moved accordingly, useless postings to the wrong forum will be closed, etc. Note: I do not want this to turn into a moderator free for all. It is up to the moderators to act responsibly and use discretion.

8. Pictures of others should not be posted without their permission. This includes friends, ex-partners, etc. Doing so could put the forum into an undesirable legal situation.

9. This forum is not for MP3 trading. There are a number of good services available for MP3 trading, and this forum is not one of them. With the recent attention MP3 files are getting from the media and RIAA, there is no need to bring negative attention to this forum.

10. "Post-whoring" is unacceptable. Posting for the sake of posting (except in the Off Topic forum) is not necessary, and serves only to make it harder to find information. Remember that people are respected for their knowledge, not post counts.

11. For-Sale issues should be handled in private. At least until a solution is reached. Bickering on the forum serves to help no one. While it is perfectly acceptable to let the other members know of a potentially unreliable seller, such an action should NOT be done unless one of the moderators or admins agrees first.

That's basically it. You will see that most of these guidelines fall into the common sense category. If you have any concerns or suggestions, feel free to let the moderators know.

Aaron, no offense or anything man, but why don't you just kick skinnyboy? That whole list of rules just basically covered everything he has done, and I really don't see anyone else doing crap like that.

Its just a suggestion, but it would help alot of tempers.

I personally wouldnt mind seeing something like that to happen ... only thing is its not as simple... Lets say Moon or Aaron deletes Skinnies account. It wouldn't take that long for that kid to open another one under different name. Its a public forum we talking about.
But if they can block the IP subnet (which is not practical in most cases as some oneelse might be using the same subnet) then that would be a different story.
I just hate kids who are immature and trying to make joke of themselves.

I agree with the kicking as well. Not sure how, but I guess he looked at my profile, saw my ICQ number and then preceded to keep ICQing me telling me that we were friends and buds. He kept asking me questions that I had no clue to what he was talking about.

So not only is he a pain in the forum, he has crossed over and become a major pain elsewhere. I shouldn't have to block people in my ICQ because I post on this board. Yeah I know i can take my ICQ number off, but then I will also lose the good things that come from it.

Just my 2 cents worth.

By friends I meant that we had a common interest, and I therefore consider everyone on this board as a friend (except lstrunk) So, what is wrong with asking someone if they are my friend??? I never told him that we were, only asked, and I never said that we were buds.. :P also, I never sent another message until he had replied, or, if he didn't reply, then I might have sent another message 10mins later, but no "keep ICQing me" business happened.. I think that some people just have a short fuse.. Mastero and I are still friends, and thats his words... not mine..
I see that my post count was chopped off short, well, I wasn't just posting for the sake of it, I don't even know about what my post count was..?? so, that proved nothing... well, I hope you are all happy.. :P Good to talk to you again friends...

OHH!!!, the little immature aussie doesn't like me anymore!!!

I have an idea, lets set a voluntary ban of like, 2 weeks. IF skinny does not post with in that time, and no new members become very "skinnyish", then he should be aloud to come back. Very much like a time out. By then, maybe he would have been so bored as to have thought about what he has done, and possibly be a better little boy because of it.

Just a thought.

Hey Skinny, Now Ive never had any dealings with you personally, but Id like to give you some advise. Im not trying to **** on you at all, but maybe you should just take a breather and come back in a week or two. Or a least take some time to read over your old posts and just think about how you are acting here. Man I know everyone gets on at you for stupid posts and silly comments but you can really be annoying sometimes. PLEASE remember I dont hate you......I dont even know you, but Im telling you this as a friend so to speak. Just think before you post.
Ive read a handful of posts here tonight that are just pointless and dont serve any purpose other than to upset ar annoy people. Like I said, dont take this the wrong way. Im trying to help, not upset you.

It would be ashame if people had to be kicked from here because of a few stupid posts. Why not just say a big "IM SORRY", and start a fresh. Be a man and act like one and all these problems will go away. Im sure the other guys would give you at least one more chance.

Hopefully this has sunk into your head, and you dont just reply with a smart-*** comment.
