Request for a torrent section.

in response to blk02si, torrent is not = to illegal downloading. There are alot of programs developed by the good people on these forums and all over the world that offer their programs for free, but the links die over time and are lost forever or at least a while until someone digs it up. The upside of torrents is we as a community would be responsible for maintaining access to these wonderful programs, until they are either obsolete or forgotten. The downloads section basically took care of what I was talking about, my hopes for it were much higher though. Either way, gotta love this forum.

We have given the torrents idea some thought - but it seems to all of us that the Download section is the solution for now. If people start to really make use of the Download section we will upgrade to a new Download plug in and then if things get really busy in terms of bandwidth - we can then seek sponsorship for the Downloads forum page or consider a torrents.

For the time being - we are all wondering around the office - why is no one using the Download section? The Download section was created so that software developers on the forum have a place to share their code, so that members can develop and share free of financial cost and others can benefit. Considering this is a free resource - it is sort of odd that it is not being used.
Is there something wrong with it?

I can host any legal download you need for MP3Car.

I have spent countless hours running around on the internet for things on this forum that have been lost (such as frodo's XM testing software)

its the least i can do =) PM me if you want to talk. i have a couple dedicated servers which are just sitting in a DC with nothing on them at the moment.

That is nice of yo to offer. We have a downloads section on the forums - anyone can post to it. Please feel free to use this free resource.
