I think warning via emails would be the best idea..... can VB handle this directly?

I don't think they shoule be deleted. The DB space is probably minimal, and it would sure **** me off if I came back and found my registration gone. Remember that some of these users may not post, but might use their account to keep track of things such as custom settings.

Perhaps accounts that show a last visited date of more than a year could be removed?

    But it really doesn't matter.

But with the upgrade to VB, doesnt that negate the custom settings? And warning them via email and giving them a week or two would be the best bet.

As I tend to visit bulletin boards sites depending completely on the time I have that is available to spend on projects, I may not hit a site for months between reading, let alone posting.

If the only serious issue is the results of searching member directories, it would seem to me that the easier route would be to limit the number displayed by time since the last post (i.e. return all members who have posted in the last month).

I think it's generally more important to have archived information available.

Maybe if they have a 0 post count after a few months, but don't delete old users. They may come back. I forgot I even had an account on here for over a year, but mighty grateful it's still here.

I was never suggesting (and I hope I didnt come across as) deleting old users that were actually active members, but rather, the 545 users that have never posted. im putting my 2 cents in again on email them and give them X weeks to start participating or else have the accounts removed.
