Actually the term is flogging a dead horse.

bascially it means to persist in trying to do something when it is not gonna work/broken/crap etc etc

ie if the horse is dead then there is no point in flogging it to try and get it to move

which in mp3car terms is like a n00b trying to use a composite 7" screen or trying to get a )4 3.0ghz to run on an M1-TX or someone tyring to find a decent FM radio.
