Would you like a "12V Electronics" forum?

So, let's put to a vote.

This forum would deal with electroics topics specifically related to MP3 players and 12V electronics.
Player: Pentium 166MMX, Amptron 598LMR MB w/onboard Sound, Video, LAN, 10.2 Gig Fujitsu Laptop HD, Arise 865 DC-DC Converter, Lexan Case, Custom Software w/Voice Interface, MS Access Based Playlists
Car: 1986 Mazda RX-7 Turbo (highly modded), 1978 RX-7 Beater (Dead, parting out), 2001 Honda Insight
"If one more body-kitted, cut-spring-lowered, farty-exhausted Civic revs on me at an intersection, I swear I'm going to get out of my car and cram their ridiculous double-decker aluminium wing firmly up their rump."

Excuse me??? I was the one. There are plenty of car electronics boards around, and people seem to be doing fine without one here! I havn't noticed a sudden surge of questions relating to that topic. Why don't we create a section for video cards, sound cards, motherboards, hard drives? I see more questions asked about those topics than 12v electronics. K.I.S.S.

yikes. mp3kid... judging by your avatar quote... you would be the idiot....

anyway, i was the one that suggested the topic in the first place. i do have to disagree with mav though on the prospect of the forum for the components. most of those product have been included under the general and commercial hardware forums.

i know that there are many web-boards available for 12v electronics projects, but i liked the "community" here and because of this i felt that many people (myself included) would be more "open" to asking questions. i know i found it intimidating to ask questions early.

so what i was suggesting was some sort of electronics forum that went beyond just the power supply. there have been people asking about preamp construction, playstation in the car (myself and others), some general electronics related questions. but like you said, there hasnt been a sudden influx of those sorts of questions.

enough of my ramblings... i guess we shall see how the vote turns out. if there isnt a lot of voting, i guess there isnt a lot of interest, so far, it looks like not that many people are interested. if this doesnt work out... no big deal. the masses will have spoken. just my $0.02

    SO..............

Maybe we should just change the Power Supply forum to Power Supply/Auto Electronics?

That could be because I keep get emailed on the subject, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm not complaining, feel free to keep the emails comming. However I do think a forum would make some of our lives a bit easier.

Electronics/circuit design sounds good. The problems I had with the 12v was that it was too specific, and I know how some people hate off topic posts. It may even be good it incorporate it with the power supply forum. And yes MP3Kid is the village idiot AKA Skinnyb0y, but he has been doing ALOT better lately.
