Limit Classifieds New Thread to members w/ xx posts

Was just thinking in the interest of preventing spam, and people signing up just to sell stuff, limit new thread creation in the Classifieds section to members with a minimum of xx posts.. say 50 or so.. or 25..

I realize that this won't prevent the serious spammers since they like to post in the power supplies forum and so on.

    Just a suggestion.

Ok, so you want to see them spam like 25 to 50 posts instead of just going straight to the classifieds?

Ya, I know. All I meant was if you put a limit before someone can post in the classifieds and they really want to do it they might just spam elsewhere to get to the min... I've seen it happen elsewhere. Of course I think I just saw the thread that started this. That Honda for sale right...

Not to mention the risk of encouraging new users, who normally wouldn't spam, to start posting meaninglessly in order to get classified privliges, the added spam from people who are confused about why they can't post in the classifed section, and the increase in missplaced posts. The benefits are simply out weighed by the problems this would create

How about a time limit then? Maybe not a post limit... that would create a lot of extra crap imo.

Maybe a few days or a week or something?

    Make it 2 weeks+ though.

Would be even nicer if we could reset that timer for people who don't follow the classifieds section rules. There are just as many old users as new users that break them.

That was what I was getting at. I do like the time limit idea though.
