I thought I'd let you all know that I just deleted a thread that was bumped. They had already bumped earlier today, someone reported the post, Red deleted the post (I don't know if a PM was made). So, they loose their thread.
my word. i just nearly fell off my chair![]()

[QUOTE=Scouse Monkey]In a world where people are dying of curable diseases and starvation every minute we all bicker over a silly issue of bumping a few threads on a silly forum where people put Pc's into cars which cost more than some families make in a year or more.
someone sensible please sort out the rules to be fair/QUOTE]
I updated the rules already when I posted on the first page. I'm sensible![]()

IMHO - this is all childish.
you may have updated the rules but are they sensible?
I see the problem now is you mods have started deleting threads and issuing impolite warnings and now you are unable to stop as you will look like you have backed down whioch leaves only one direction for it to all go.
personally i DON'T think the 'no bumping' is totally right for the reasons i have mentioned previously.
I think they need someone who is no involved in dishing out warning and delteing threads OR someone who has been told off to look at the rules and subjectively go through them with reasons.
Personally i think that would be someone like fibreoptic.
"It's a blessing . . . and a curse."
excuse me?
this is exactly the kind of attitude that comment was made to highlight...people who are stuck in their own little worlds.
Yes you should feel bad and more importantly you should feel stupid that you are bickering over a silly little matter of some threads gettign bumped. And you should feel even more stupid that you are bringing that up and choose to discuss that.
And as for having a means to help people....we all do, be it through money, time...damn even prayers if you are the religious type.
so drop it as this is off topic.

what language would you like it in?
Let me explain the long winded way....
I think you guys are being a little bit overly harsh and when one of you start acting a little bit over the top you all bunch together like bullies. No don't bother disputing that as it is true, no matter how much you may not like it, it is.
yes bumping can bve a nuisance but only when it is excessive and by excessive i would say more than once every week say.
Personally i dont have a problem with people reminding people their stuff is for sale. As i have said a few times already...not everyone sees a forsale thread as nto everyone is logged in every day or every couple of days and for that reaons i would allow people to bump a thread if it has not had any interest on say the 8th day with something like:
"these are still for sale, open to offers"
I really dont see what the big problem is with this kind of 'bumping' and if i see a forsale thread that is 2 weeks old i normally assume the stuff is well gone as things generally go fast.
Even items for sale at a fiar price may not get snapped up as the right person is not online at the right time.
yes if someone does it more than that take action. delete it, warn them etc etc I dont care. but stopping people reminding people is silly. And I have also noticed that the warning are quite rude and there is no need for it. Why do you feel the need to be-little people? I don't understand it. all you end up doing is make people resent it and dislike you.
And I will say it again...make a separate thread for wanted, have a system to remove old for sale threads etc etc. and allow a limited number of bumps spread out. Give them 2 bumps in 2 weeks. then if not sold they must reduce it or forget it and wack it on ebay.
That is pretty funny, you are complaining about people bickering about a silly subject yet you yourself can't go without throwing in your opinion.
As far as I'm concerned this isn't something that even needs to be discussed here, it is a mod issue on how we deal with things.
Ody, thanks again for pointing out the vagueness of the rules.
