i think it hasnt been changed back for obvious reasons though, i mean its just a check box somewhere right?

yep it should be a check box or a drop down in the administrator control panel forum config screen. if it doesnt get changed back soon, it will get changed back eventually. since without it there will be so much clutter on the forums. for example. every time someone wants to edit something instead of just editing post #1 itll be a new post each time. I for one will not search thru 700 posts to find an update, so when i do something, ill just make a new post ever single time theres a slight change.

the PERFECT solution would be.... THE PERSON WHO STARTS THE THREAD CAN EDIT ANY OF HIS POSTS IN HIS "OWN" THREAD.... that's it... no one can go back & change what they said on a normal basis, but in your own thread your the creator & editor.... kinda like moderating your own thread to the extent of being allowed to edit...

this would solve BOTH ends of the problem, but.... I think the real problem with that is if the software supports that

unless he has a custom script for the php to hack into the php code, then no, nost options in premade bulletin software is an all or nothing kinda thing. the most you can set for diff people to have diff options is like groups example moderators etc. then its across the board. to my knowledge either people can edit posts or they cant. im not aware of an option that only allows the person that started a thread to have the edit. under NORMAL circumstances it makes no sense.

So um.. can you change that option back now this is like reallly really really annoying.
