You're all changing a good thing WHY?

This post is probably not what most people think it will be but
where is the vehicle info on the left hand side and why doesnt someone add CARPC to it so that pepole can use thier signatures for other things. like links to thier support software etc

I've had to remove the specs on what im running because I have no room left in my sig but if it was on the left hand side I'd have room

When I was a n00b I searched signatures all the time for this info it was hard to find

I also looked at the type of cars people had especially in the OBD area Why is this place goin to hell

If i seema bit harsh Ive just had it with the Edit posts thing.
    The E-Drama over external links
Over some members having some fun with something that hurt no one
Some of the mods acting like huge hypocrits
The fact we still cant update a posts title one posted, which has been requested over 100 times
    AND
Mods editing posts by removing them. (the correct way is to leave the actual post intact but empty and last edited by "Modname" so that people reading the thread will not have a thread out of context (which i believe is one of Ziplocks goals)

You mean the vehicle, as well as the vehiclePC specs as information you fill out in the profile?
That's a great idea. I don't know what happened to the Vehicle info...
Now, adding the PC specs might be more involved. I'm not the authority, but I agree that it's a great idea, if it can be implemented.

    The E-Drama over external links
Which is being discussed presently amongst all parties involved.
Over some members having some fun with something that hurt no one
And not furthering the growth of this hobby.
Some of the mods acting like huge hypocrits
And some of the membership at large acting the same.
The fact we still cant update a posts title one posted, which has been requested over 100 times
It's been that way since day one.
PM a mod or admin, and it will get changed. You could also have osmeone else report the post with a request, although that could very well annoy some of the moderators or admins.

That is how we edit posts presently. There is no need to specify "edited by", as the moderator that deletes the post or thread is specified. There is also a reason that the moderators include as to why the post or thread is deleted.

When deleted in this way, all teh moderators & administrators can see a placeholder for hte post with the option to view it, so nothing is permanently removed.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Currently, there is a plug in called Community Builder for Mambo and Joomla, as is there for other CMS systems out there.

these plugins allow for great community building, as the title implies.

Not having first hand experience with vBulletin, I'm not sure how easy it is to add these things in.

However, I will say this much. Just because the issue is not addressed or changed to meet someones liking within the first few hours of posting it, doesn't mean it won't happen.

And not furthering the growth of this hobby.
show me a hobby that only talks specifically about a hobby and nothing more

this is kind of a mute point cause i personally dont care about it but it was harmless fun for what it was
and it seems like there might have been a mod or 2 who liked it too as 2fasts rep went strangely south for no apparent reason? ? ?

And some of the membership at large acting the same.
Mods are supposed to set examples

It's been that way since day one.

if thats what you all seem to really want but it mkas alot more sense to allow certain subforums have the editing feature. Worklogs and Classifieds

The current way is quite confusing for non mod readers who don thave those hidden messages flagged

The reason that other thread was closed was so that PEOPLE DON'T KEEP COMPLAINING ABOUT IT. Don't discuss this any further until a decision has been made.

    just a quick note regardless...

the fun was in the off topic section. hence why its called off topic.

and im not being a hypocrit, i did nothing wrong but get bashed and labeled by one of your mods that should know what a mod is and does. You can discuss it all you want in the mod forums, it doesnt change the fact that im still waiting and deserving an apology.

edit: i didnt think i needed another post for this. As for adding those fields into the bb software.. its not hard. You need to edit the input file. for example signup.php(im not sure where it will be located or the name im just making something up for example sake.youd have to find the file thats used or opened when those fields are entered.) just follow suit for the entry fields, and sql for it to be added to the DB. then You go into phpmyadmin (forum owner has to do this) and goto the proper table and add the new fields to match the file you edited. Its not that hard if you know what your doing.

I don't know... I don't want to throw more wood in the fire, but.... I will anyways...

I just think, as far as people getting offended on these forums..... it's kind of childish...

I understand if someone threatens you or something like that... take action...

But if someone calls you a dummy, or a dumb noob, or a dumb boob... we are all at least 16 years old... There are no 6-8 year olds on this forum...

Act like adults, and just ignore it...

/my 2 cents.... (Great... now I really am moneyless....)

    Peace,

    Rafster

It's all about sharing what you knows and learning what you don't.
Relax and have fun. Life is too short to have fun. Don't take thing so ******* serious.
Regardless whether it's a hobby or money making business, if there isn't fun coming along, it's won't last.
