New Subforum Request -- Extreme Projects

I've been thinking, there are some great projects intermixed with some "average" projects on this website.

May I suggest a Subforum in the Show Off Your Project area where some of the more experienced members share their extreme projects.

The way to get there would be by voting of the board members; if they really like someone's completed projects, they could nominate them to be upgraded to the special section.

Some projects that come to mind (obviously off the top of my head)...:
Red's Overhauled Audio System (when she's done).
Turbocad's liquid cooled and ultrabright monitor.
    Someone's completed HUD nightvision project.
    Other mind-blowing projects, etc.

    What do you say?

I think it is a good idea. The only problem would be the voting thing. How would a mod know to move it to the awesome area without scrolling through every post in every show off your project for a majority vote of "yes it should be in the cool forum"? You could do the report post link if you think you have the stuff, but it would leave it up to the sole discretion of the mod then.

I am unsure as to how this would be implemented, but I like it.

I've noticed that some threads have stars to them... Now, I'm not sure how it works, or even how to vote for those stars.
But if a member posts something worthwhile, and accumulates enough stars, maybe he could request to have his thread "upgraded."

Well the new subforum could be locked to new topics and the one and only topic to start it out would be a poll forum. I like the idea. Or maybe even a Hall Of Fame forum heh

You mean like a "featured install of the month?"

Yeah something like that. Would be great to honor all the top projects and also give newbies to the forums some inspiration.

In that case, it would be great if the store could sponsor it by giving freebies to the nominated winners.

I agree that the big problem is deciding who gets to decide what constitutes an "Extreme Project" but I think it's a great idea to have a subforum just for the inspirational installs.
