New Wiki integration (beta)

In an effort to keep the wiki alive and to help facilitate the collection of knowledge, we have implemented a new integration of the Wiki.

All of the same information is there, it just actually looks like it's a part of the forum now rather than an entirely seperate page like before.

This integration should also take care of any log-in issues any of you have been having.

Please give it a go and let me know if you run into any problems.

Also worthy of noting: I have created a new Wiki Discussions Forum. A new thread will be generated when you click on the discussion tab on an article.

Since this forum will be dedicated to discussing wiki articles, I'm going to be looking into a way to prevent new threads from being created unless they are generated by the discussion tab in the wiki.

The big difference is that users who where unable to login can now login. In fact being logged into the forums means that you're automatically logged into the wiki. The two systems are much more integrated and functional.

You don't notice that now the forum headings and links are located at the top where as before you were taken to a page that looked like it had little to nothing to do with this forum?

Now the wiki is embedded within the forum rather than being a completely seperate entity and page.

Also, I'm looking into a mod that would hot link phrases that are identical to wiki article titles.

It also allows us to now create threads on topics for discussion rather than using the discussion feature that the wiki would normally use. This means more discussion on a topic which should help provide more accurate information and more activity on the wiki.

Well the page still looks just like a standard wiki, maybe if you had the forum header there it would look like it belongs.

Don't get me wrong I think you are making some great additions/changes, but there was no wow! factor which your thread title and first post indicated in this instance.

the things you're complaining about are exactly the intention of the modification...lol

It's supposed to look like the wiki, just embeded in the forum.

The intent was never to have any wow factor. The intent was to blend in better.
