I'd like a list of key words I can enter (like search terms) that call some alertsound on my OS whenever they appear on a new post when I'm sitting there like an addict waiting for the next post. It could also alert when a subsrcibed or replied to thread has a new message. Well maybe, i don't know what it would take, but I think it would be nice (as a selectable feature), then I could actually get more work done.

Sorry guys - that's going to require some hefty coding and I not only don't have the time for it, I don't know how to do it.

If you could tell me where to get a free copy of vbulletin (like a trial) and where you got the Live section I can try and code a custom version for us.

AFAIK there's not a free version where you have access to the code.
There's a demo site where you can play with the software, but no access to the code without paying for it.
You also cannot access the modifications without being a registered paying member of vBulletin software.
To add to that, any custom modification done to the code will cause numerous headached when updates are brought out (which they are about once a month).

Clarification: I seem to always want the features I can't have, the ones that aren't implemented and not yet possible. I guess that's why I'm here. I may have hacked-up a perfectly good cliche...sorry.

Ah, I got it now... Like I said Ill try what I can but I don't know if my buddy with vbulletin might not have the Live post thing and/or might not want me poking around his site. We will have to see, Id really like to have the features that both of us mentioned.
