I agree with calypso, thought I don't understand the need to justify ones opinion. An opinion is based on preference not fact, and no ones opinion is inherently wrong, just different.

I preferred having the latest things for sale posted up front, if I'm window shopping its a simple one click to see whats out there, now I have to click each category which takes a lot longer. Secondly, if I'm selling a motherboard, CPU , and RAM now I have to post 3 threads instead of one and maintain 3 threads instead of one. I see the benefits of the new system, but I still prefer the OLD one in lieu of the new one.

I hope I have justified why I think what I think, even though I know not everyone shares the same opinion as me, I accept what the mods have done and I honestly don't see them switching back to the older better system since they dropped hard earned money on this alleged "upgrade"

Notice, I didn't say he was wrong...and I didn't say he needed to justify his opinion.

Someone pointed out earlier in this thread that if one wishes to see all the ads at once, similar to the old system, then just leave the search field blank, and hit "search". Hope that helps.

You did how ever insinuate it, but I don't really care to argue over semantics. I read this entire thread (also note I replied long before Calipso stating my disdain) but its still an extra step to do an empty search. My latter point was my primary one. Sellers need to maintain multiple threads to sell multiple things. Couple the blank search with 50 people selling 5 items in 5 different categories and instead of seeing 50 threads by 50 users you see 250 different threads.

I also accepted the fact that no matter how horrid this new system I know it will stay, simply because money was invested into it. I'm sure that if it was equally crappy but free, we'd have already switched back to the old way.

    YMMV

You notice the lack of classified ads now compared to before? You notice how some of the sections are jumbled?

Having a thread based classified section > section based.

Seriously, there is way less postings in the classified section now, people could easily post a list of small little things they want to sell and this new section sort of restricts that since it's design for 1 listing to 1 item...

Also it takes some clicking around to see if the seller's likely a scammer...clicking around to find their post count and join date, a regular thread post shows this info without clicking around.

I don't want to complain, but Vorex gave a better detailed description of my reason that I did.

You can get scammed either way, the risk of online deals is pretty high. I do though, miss seeing the ammount of goodies people were selling. The classified section now, is nothing more than a ghost town. I implore to the mods/admin to switch it back.

I actually agree with calypso now. Before i didn't but get this, i'm getting MORE responses for my old ads in the archives than my new ones. What gives?

I think what is needed is a way to view all ads. honestly, some people like to browse. others have a hole burning in their pocket. And don't tell me "they can search." If they're not going to search for what they want on the rest of the forums, then what makes any of you think people will search in the classifieds

and park is just trying to say give a reason why we should listen to your opinion. I mean, i can say that the member Frodo is a chick. But why? I have no reason. If i say because the title says 9 ingered lesbian, then i'm not a complete douche, just a guy who was misled by a funny title (Frodo's a guy, btw).

i also would like to express that i liked the old system much better. i used to be able to sell several items within days (sound card, laptop, and some usb cables). with the new system i have had zero luck with similar items. i think it has to do with the way things are categorized separately, so someone just perusing to pick up random items cannot do so. its also hard to just spot a great deal to jump on, like ive seen done many times.

alas, this all probably falls on deaf ears, but i just thought id give my input. its probably part business strategy so that the mp3car.com store can sell more...but who knows? all i know is that im gonna end up stuck with a lot of leftover parts and that i doubt ill be able to sell now

I have been kicking around this forum for a long time now and I also think the old system was better for the following reasons

    1. a single place to look when I wanted to get something
    2. seem to have a lot more activity and was eaiser to use IMHO
    3. Because it was simple Items seem to move faster
