New Classified Section

Just signed up to see the Classifieds, and join in some discussions. But apparently i still can't access it. It gives me a generic "no permission" page.

Now this is probably because i don't have any posts yet, but it might be a good idea to give a bit more warning to new users.

With this post done, i'm gonna see if i can find a DWW-750FM

To add to that:

There are new members such as myself that were referred from other forums (i.e. my350z.com) and are interested in the Classifieds. In my particular instance, I wanted to look at prefab'd carputers for sale to pop in my Z instead of going through the dog n' pony show of creating one myself.

While I understand there are certain criteria for accessing the Classifieds, they are not implicitly spelled out in the 'Why can't I view the Classifieds' thread.

As such, I shot the Mod a quick PM to clarify the contingencies:

I'm an active member of my350z.com, AZ350Z.com and 350ZMotoring.com and looking to create my own carputer.

I had registered on the site for DIY information and the opportunity to look at classifieds for a pre-built carPC setup, however, my account is restricted due to recent registration.

Does your site/forum allow the release of accounts for those interested in purchasing from the 'classifieds'? If not, can you identify the minimum criteria available to receive the release? At this point, I don't know that I'm able to contribute anything significant to community discussion on points relative to 'carputers'.

Any information you are able to provide is appreciated - thank you!

Genius! I read the thread, that's why I asked for clarification...

Wha-wha, I guess? In any case, good luck with the revamped Classifieds; hope the Mods rethink access criterion or demonstrate a little more helpfulness in the future on similar topics.

The "mod" you asked is the "admin" that wrote the thread.

Why would I outline the steps people need to take to gain access when the steps in place are there for a reason?

To prevent trollers from using our users and the clasifieds to make a quick buck.

Outline it and I might as well not have the protection built in.

If you actually contribute to this forum (like at leat introduce yourself), you'll find that it's not all that hard...

yea the new classifieds suck... i cant find what i want to buy and to sell soemthing is to much a hassle..

I have been reading these forums for a while, trying to figure out exactly how I was going to start my install. We went underway for 8 months, and now that I am back I decided to start. I looked on eBay, but I was not very interested in the offerings. This is really the place I would go for buying some of the components (I am going non-touchscreen for a variety of reasons), and I was disappointed when I found the classifieds locked down. Aside from giving my to people with "sweet" installs, I have had nothing to contribute worth wasting people's time to read.

Anyway I'm Ben, I own a 2000 VW GTI VR6, love it, and don't have a CarPC yet but I am gathering parts as we speak.
