i agree with defiler and johnwpb can chime in on this. If 10 ppl post saying they are coming, only half to just over half actually show. This has happened at every meet so far.

Right now there is only 6 posted "saying" they will come. Theres a good chance only 3-5 ppl actually show up.

On some of the past meets had 20 ppl post saying they will come. only half would show. Some ppl a day or two before the scheduled meet that posted they are coming would change their minds, mostly cause their system is not complete or broke in some sort of way.

This is not a competition meet. There are no prizes or trophies giving out. It is a get together of fellow "techheads" to show what they did, how they did it and to offer help, ideas, and other suggestions. Even if your system is not done, or you (people reading this) is new and don't know where or how to start, come to the meets, check out what other people have done to install a carpc.

Even if your system is not finished, or broken in some sort of way, show up. At one meet someone showed up having heat issues with his pc and it was driving him crazy. We all looked at it and found out a cover was just touching the cpu fan. Well, now its fixed because he showed up.

Two reasons a list is made. One, to show how many people say they are coming. Two, I would like to see the meets get a bigger crowd. There are some plans in the works for future meets, but only if more people actually show up.

Oh, and thanatos, i got to see your bikepc, i have a bike and would like to check it out.

i dont mind cooking some thai food...i just need a definate answer on everyone that is going to be there...and what will I have to cook with? a grill...i might have to get a propane grill and a wok if that is the case...

Well the "wife" stepped in and axed my cookoff idea as shes not a big country music fan so now im a 100% for attending the meet even if im the only one there and I will most likely be driving up saturday morning and staying the night in sarasota. Neither of us have ever been there so we figure we can do some fishing and sight seeing before the meet. My carpc is the same as it has been since the first meet with some minor superficial changes but I enjoy sharing it and getting ideas for upgrading and changing it. I also enjoy sharing experiences with people that are starting their project or having a tough time with something as i think i hit every speed bump possible when building this system

That being said. I hope to see all of you there and John i hear you on the flaking out at the last minute i have been to a few meets where nowhere near as many people show up as we had all hoped.

I'll bring a trophy if anyone wants to come just for a trophy. it will be awarded to uhm well we will just take a vote on who gets it... only problem is its a Dominos trophy so it has a double six domino on top but its adds up to 12 and well you can just pretend its a 12volt trophy!

There is alot to do in Sarasota as well as the park, for those of you bringing families you can bring bicycles and ride around the park there is also a playground ,airboat tour around the lake, and a tram tour on the trail.

so is anyone leaving from s.fla on saturday? wanna caravan up there... just so long as you dont drive like a.... er.... damn i cant think of anything to put there that wont get me in trouble with everyone.... anyone driving up saturday that wants to speed the entire way since i find it incredibally hard to obey speed limits?

Apparently nobody got the memo. hivoltage is now forcing people to go! if you dont want to go its not even a problem because you dont have a choice! thatslife thought he had a choice and look what happened! tell em' whats up volt!

I wouldn't call it forcing, maybe persuading. LOL

BTW I've got a Micro ATX for whoever wants it and a power supply. (Winner must be present to win, see I told you,persuading)
