If you want a second opinion on mounting, I'm more than happy to swing by.
I don't know if I'll have time to swing by tonight. If I can make it I will though.
After some careful measuring, I figure it will be a tight fit to make a 10 inch screen work...
Might roll with this... Xenarc 840TSV
Aron, any thoughts on this model?
Or the Lilliput 8" Widescreen (16:9) VGA Touchscreen 889GL-80NP/C/T
THoughts gentlemen... and yes, that $700 daylight readible that cough cough someone has would be awesome, but it would blow my budget
If you sink the monitor back into the dash a little bit that will help shade it from direct light, which is the real killer on any monitor. (yes even mine.)
I don't have a preference of Xenarc versus Lilliput. But if the xenarc has a better connector on the back than the crappy one that lilliput uses, I'd go with that.
I like my lilliput with the exception of that crap connector. When I move the location of my screen I'll be re-soldering that connection so it's not such a pain in the a$$.
And yes...sink it back into the dash, you should have enough space in that area behind the dash to sink it back about an inch if not more, maybe angle it back slightly as most stock screens that are sunk back have a slight angle to them (Toyota Prius is a good example)
If you planning on a rear view camera the Zenarc is already setup to switch inputs with a reverse light trigger. The Lilliput requires a workaround.

Holy Cow I have missed a lot of discussion.
Definately sink the screen back some. I look at mine every day thinking HOW can I get mine back further. I have no room to do it since everything is behind the screen. I have thought about bringing the bezel out around the screen to get the needed shade.
I have my system down to 35 seconds, yes 12 would be nicer but my bios takes 14, so 35 isnt bad.
Chicago this weekend? I wonder if I can convince my wife to go for a drive. Not likely but I can dream.
