Thread: Houston Area?

I am from Houston like to see a meet for carputers. My computer gets hot but dont really know how well it stand up till summer hits. Would love to see other peoples setup.

Intel 2.3 quad core
4gigs ram
650gig hardrive
Auzentech Forte 7.1 sound card (amazing sound)
pico 120 watt power supply
Directron HD Radio
Ibusrr controller (interface with my car control)
7inch touchscreen (will be ugprading to 8inch soon)

Software:
Vista x64
RideRunner
Flash base skin customized by me but not made by me
Igo 2008 navigation
Using Iphone as internet for my carputer for Pandora,Shoutcast, slacker music.

btw - what Zotac board? I've got a Zotac as well and am pleasantly surprised by it.

Must agree on the Auzentech cards. I had an x-mystique with upgraded op-amps in my old setup. I've got an Asus Xonar XD in the new one and it's got a little different sound, but it's still crystal clear and sounds better than the x-fi titanium in my home desktop.

Using the Zotac 9300 Mini\ITX with the HDMI output motherboard. *It not my CPU getting too hot it is the motherboard GPU. Need to upgrade the heatsink for the GPU on the motheboard with a better one with fan*

Picked one up at MicroCenter. This sound card pushes sound out loud and with Crystal CMSS by Creative it so clear at the same time.

Quad core cause it was almost same price as the duel core and the motherboard supported it. But I am using RideRunner with custom made skin of pure flash. One screen has a least 25 flash objects loaded and without the cpu\memory power it freezes up.
Plus decoding Hd video's is nice with all that power. (Option in k-codec decoder to use multi processor). Also using CoverJuke without a flash base skin but straight from the coverjuke.exe embedded in RideRunner is sick with no cpu\gpu lag.

if I can make it, count me in (ps- I'm still relatively new to the area and work from home so I don't get out much... I hardly know the area otherwise I'd be the first with suggestions)

@Potpeye - I'd like to see your setup, sounds interesting. What skin is it?

17th I would go out there if we can gather a few more people to show. I live up North but usually in the SouthWest area on the weekends.

nst6563 - Not using a specific skin but am using customizable flash buttons created by Pcpete to create my own skin. Made my own flash OBD to display MPH,RPM,Fuel, etc readouts from my Ibuss.

nice board. I considered using that one, however I use a 9300 chipset in my htpc and knew it ran pretty hot. I went with this one instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813500010

seems to work decent so far, no overheating problems and very fast. The only bad thing I can say about it is it didn't like my Adata ram had to use some Patriot that I picked up for dirt cheap on a Fry's sale.

ughhhhh i missed it! i live in katy too. id be interested in seeing some others set-ups sometime if they wanna schedule sometihn again..
