Any of you in Central IL? I keep meaning to check. I know there is a Chicago group but going up there can be a mess and harder to make the drive unless I have another reason. I always seem to end up up there on the wrong weekend. So where you you two located?

No, I just took a job in Carbondale for the last year and no one picked up the meet to continue it. I may try again next year, but I still attend the Chicago meet whenever I can.

For a STL/Central IL meet, I'd be down for the drive. Granted, I'd probably have to get off my butt and get to work on the Tahoe to get a computer in it.
Play with it, 'til it's broke.

Well sounds like we may have some interest. Maybe we can give it a little bit to see if more people chime in then pick the best middle place for everyone and try to get together before it's too damn cold out there.

Possible Attendees we have so far http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour....27124&t=h&z=7

(I just pick Indy not know where you where thekl0wn)

I'm more of the Evansville area (southernmost part of IN). Indy is about 4 hours away for me, Chicago is 7+, and St Louis is about 3.
Play with it, 'til it's broke.

Don't wait. Pick a place, pick a date and run with it!

    Some lessons learned:
    1. You can't please everyone (especially with date and time).
    2. Pick a place with open parking, bathrooms close, and some shade trees.
    3. The place you pick should be easily accessible from major highways.
    4. Free food gets the biggest turnout, but an available grille helps.
    5. The more you advertise, i.e., forum reminders, thread bumps, PMs to the locals, etc., from the day you announce and every week till the event the better.
    6. Thirty to sixty days advance notice is best for others to manipulate their schedules for someone who really wants to attend.
    7. Create a new thread in MP3 Gatherings and title it with the place, time and date. Include a google map of the location as well as GPS coordinates. Keep updating the first post as things change, and they will.

GO FOR IT! As long as its not snowing I'll try to be there, but my weekends are filling up fast: cant do 15-17 or 22-24 Oct or 5-7 Nov.
