Ok, so it is looking like we can divide AFK fest into a few sections. Some people want to work on OSDash, some want to work on the Plug Computer Project and I am guessing we need a show off your car section and let companies show off their goods.

It would be good to get a few forum members to help me with ideas etc., so that I can make sure that the event is pretty cool.

So who is interested in helping be an organizer and help me get ideas together for how this should all work?

    Also a few questions:
    1. Should this be 1 or 2 days?
    2. what information does everyone need right now? I list of reasonably priced hotels? Should I see if I can get a deal if we can do a hotel group buy?
    3. Are there other things we should do?

Im down with cheap hotels. Also, I do not mind sharing hotel rooms to save on cost as well.

you know I'm willing to help. Personally I think it should be a 1 day event. It seemed to work well last time. Are we going to have the speaker series similar to last year? If not, we could divide up some of that time to the people doing demos.

A group rate hotel Would seem to be an ideal situation. I may even take advantage of that so I don't have to drive home beat like last year.

If you need any help including with setup and take down just let me know. I personally think this is a big deal for us and will help out any way possible.

You can count on me for any help you need...

I agree the main event should be a single day...although if people want to do a coding day or anything like that then make that an optional day before.
Cheap hotels or possibly group rates would be great.

Event Brite set up to get event info and free tiks

    Hey guys,

You can find all event info on Eventbrite here.

I'll update info there and set up a page on mp3Car as well next week. Aside from checking in with some hotels, any other questions? Also, we cannot use fort mchenry this year because they are doing construction...so best to stay here on the top floor of the garage for another year.

definitely 20 feet ceiling, probably higher. Why, what do we need? In terms of how high up...60-70 feet. I can find out if needed.

Just let me know what we need and Ill sort it.

Okay, i'll leave the roof mountable, carpc controlled, auto-targeting paintball turret out of the demo... The roof probably isn't high enough. :P j/k

I'm planning on being there, with the iBug and some sort of connected car demo that kev and Matt are going to help out with.

1 day should do it - maybe a pre-show day to do some kind of plug-fest or prep for demo cars. Mine will probably need tweaking as we may not have a chance to work in person on it until that weekend.
