    Beta Scape 2012

Weak Sauce! Who scheduled Beta Scape on the weekend that I'm away on vacation? I wanna know? Who thought this would be funny?

Anyone know what the Sunday hours will be for talks/meets/displays for the MP3car crowd? I get back on Sunday and I'd like to bring my vehicle down if there's time (get a little show-off action plus some tips on working a couple of gremlins out).

There's been zero talk here about it... is there a mp3car crowd planning on showing up? $75 for a ticket is a bit rich for my blood, otherwise I'd go.

$75? What the deuce? I didn't see that. I just had the emails from MP3car and Eventbrite and saw that:
"mp3Car is sponsoring Betascape in Baltimore. As part of that sponsorship, we're doing some cool stuff for members of the mp3Car community who are also attending Betascape. Since you are an mp3car forum member you get these goodies:

10% off anything in the mp3car store and free shipping if you pick it up at Betascape (order by 9/16)
    A free mp3Car t-shirt while supplies last
Hack with people outside the car community
Arduinos will be $18 with the coupon code (order by 9/19)
Get your tickets on EventBrite with the code mp3carFTW to get hooked up "

I came last year (was MUCH cheaper if I remember correctly) and had a good time/got some good info (pretty sure it was last year but I might be crazy and it was 2 years ago....).
I rolled into the "gathering" forum and it looked like the AFKFest thread fizzled out in August. I've been off the forum for a while but I've done a pretty decent amount with my rig so my interest has peaked back up for a meet if someone is planning one (just not this or next weekend unfortunately).

betsacape isn't an mp3car event. We're just helping make it happen because it's cool. 75$ covers 4 meals over 2 days and it's a much nicer venue. If you guys want to plan a separate free event on another weekend we'd be happy to provide a food budget, garage, BBQ and a conference room.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't realize that it was $75 but when I heard it was, I thought it odd because last year it was much less (granted the badge I paid for was just for the mp3car portion). $75 for 4 meals and 2 days all access is actually good deal. Just wish it was on a different weekend or I'd be there (sounds pretty bad *** if you're combining Carputing and other community hardware efforts like Arduino or Raspberry PI. Nice way to get some legit techies into the Car PC world.

I'm definitely game for a Metropolitan Area meet. Has the AFKfest just died or did I miss a memo on that one? The thread got pretty quiet all of a sudden.

Unfortunatly I don't have the time. Too many other projects going on :/ I was kinda hoping to spur interest with that thread, but it did kinda die.
