The kind of things I want would probably be to big for a carputer, so I want some ideas of how small I can go and still do what I want. I am so I could . Oh well.
The St Louis meet is a monthly get together you could easily make. I've tried to make them predictable so everyone can plan way in advance. There's always Dallas but they're less routine. Chicago , Florida, and DC are also planned way in advance.

The hardest thing about a meet is someone standing up and taking charge. You can't please everyone, so don't try. And yes two people getting together is better than none. These thing are slow growth deals cause everyone has differing priorities (Hell I bribed my area last year with 5 slabs of Ribs and only a dozen showed up). My advice Start locally and as the word gets out it will grow. And as an oeganizer be prepared to spend a lotta time alone.

sounds good though i'm not sure how long of a drive it is from LR, i'll have to mapquest but if its within 8-10 hrs drive i'm game.. I have 3 day weekends every other weekend so its definitely doable. Let me know the dates when you have them and i'll keep you posted.
