Well, I'm going to drive out at 12, it's gonna take me about an hour to reach Renton from where I live.
I'm gonna bring my friend with me (also Russian), he's very interested in having a carputer.
He doesn't even have a car though (yet)

    Thumbs up

Well, that was a nice meet I really liked everyone's installs - very different.
I especially liked orangewhip's hiding place for his carputer and that black truck with huge subwoofers
I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to say good-bye to you all guys, we kinda lost you in the store and my friend got very hungry (so did I, but we didn't have much money) so we went home.
I'll post the pics later today, gotta wash my car first - it looks horrible.

PS: my head still hurts from those subwoofers!

    Cool Pictures !

Okay, here we go I know orangewhip has more pics, and I hope he will post them

Orangewhip's Nissan next to my Saturn:

Inside the Nissan, very nice dash job:

The system is hidden below the one of the back passanger seats:

    The brains of the truck:

This is specsix's truck, lowered with nice rims. Looking really good:

    His system in the trunk:

LCD and the head unit(s) :

LCD closeup. This system is incredibly fast, especially comparing to mine

The crazy subs! He has four of these, and then some more all over his doors The bass was so intense that he set off the alarm on a nearby vehicle about 7 times while demonstrating it

    Talking More!!!

    This is Dan's car:

The keyboard is backlit when dark, there is also a touchpanel and the LCD is touch sensitive:

Looks a lot like the insides of a cop car All he needs is a nice cop-style front bumper and a long antenna:

Opus sitting on top of a tiny system:

This is the car that had its alarm set off 7 times by specsix's subwoofers

That's about it All-in-all there were four cars with carputers.

Mooo, just us cows. I had an enjoyable time and I hope everyone else did too. A number of people were traveling today (or recovering from all night lan parties), so we probably won't hear from them for a while. Did you ever stop by Vetco and pick up one of those LCD panels?

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to since I didn't write down the address. Besides by what you told me this doesn't sound like a VGA screen, more like a laptop LCD which needs a separate controller. I do want to see them with my own eyes though, but I'm currently a little low on money so I think I'll just wait for my paycheck to arrive and then drive up there - it's a long way from where I live.

    Thanks for the meet everyone!

Yuriy, Thanks for showing the pics, but for some reason they are not showing up in the forum.

I really enjoyed seeing all of the installs. You guys really go for compact and I give you credit for it. I had no idea people were trying to get carputers that small.

The pics should show up now.
Yeah, small carputers are nice. I was surprized by the price on that mini-motherboard in Fry's - only $50 for a 1ft x 1ft mobo! I used to think they were about $250 without any processor/memory/anything.

BTW, I like your choice of music I wish I could get my USB 2.0 to IDE piece so we could share.

Oh, and I have a question for you. Do you still have your stock alternator or did you have to buy a stronger one? I'm asking because my inverter shuts down for a second once in a while (it does that because it thinks the battery is getting low) and that is just bad because my computer freezes. So I was wondering if a more powerful inverter should solve my problem, or should I look into a new alternator. I know your setup has to require a lot of juice with all those subs and a non-laptop carputer.

PS: orangewhip should have more and better pictures, I hope we won't have to whip him to get them out on the forums
