Colorado Meet

Hello,
I'm in Colorado Springs, commuting to work every day to the Tech Center. I'd be willing to come during the January timeframe. I'm getting married to my beautiful wife to be in December, so I will not be available then. I do not have a carputer yet, but have been reading up now for the past year or so. Just need to get my tax refund back in April, and we are all systems ready for LAUNCH!

I'm in the process of moving the carputer from the Corvette to the recently aquired suburban. It may be some time before its ready, but I might be able to make a meet in January. Somewhere in the Tech center would be good, Park Meadows Mall might be a good place to meet too. Parker would be ideal for me (of course)

Any fellow suburban/tahoe/similar owners local want to give me some help/tip getting the power wired up? (where to route etc)

I'm in Denver. I don't have my computer in car yet but would like to see some of your installs. I live down in Parker but work up in Broomfield so anyplace would work.

I know it is taboo... but I am useing the cig lighter. The reason is I move the PC from one vehicle to another.

The same set up handles the crank in the suburban (97) but not in the 95 toyota. Crazy! It is installed in a cheap breifcase to be easy to switch between the autos.

In the toy I have run additional power to under the seat and used an aux lighter unit with a switch.

I think I will be there around the 3rd. The end of the month will probably be better for me since I need to find a house and move in.

So ,do you guys wanna shoot for like the second or third weekend in January? Park meadows is cool, I live up in Greeley, Fort Collins so it will be an hour or so drive, no big deal though. Let me know what everyone thinks,

Trucking, I'm still using my Cigarette lighter port also, Getting a weird Wine sound through the stereo though, I need to hardwire it sometime I guess.

Let me know which weekend will work for all!!

As long as it is not over Presidents day weekend in Feb.... I will be out of town.

I used the lighter in the toy for awhile but it seemed to get warm, no whine and I was not able to charge my cell.

I think it is not the best solution but it works for me. The electrical system in the subruban is, well, BEEFY so I do not worry about it.

Truckin, yeah no joke, your altenator is probably like a 130amp or something huh! I'm thinking Jan, I just hope the weather isn't too bad. It was cool this weekend, I had weekend duty on Sat morning and was freezing to death.

Actually the orig. alternator (130 amp or something big) failed... before the car PC.
It was replaced with the part that was available in the middle of nowhere I think it is 90 or 100.

The system does not draw much, being PII level and a celeron. No CD or floppy drive.

Oh Cool, I'm running a 2Ghz laptop, that runs off of the battery for now untill I hard wire my invertor, but my amps really draw some current. What do you think about 15,16 of January?
