No kidding, I figured with how tech savvy everyone is in Colorado, that there would be more car pc's around.
Daytime so we can see without flashlights/headlights?
Weather permitting it seems good to me

I'm sure there are lots of people like me, enjoy the tech stuff, but dont have the extra cash or parts lying around to have an install yet. I think it would be great for peeps that don't have systems yet to come on out and get ideas like me before I purchase and start installing.
PIP - if you click on the link below you will find yourself at www.ClubAvalanche.com There are a bunch of threads and pictures and info from us Chevy Avalanche owners (half surburban, half truck) doing all kinds of mods and tweaks. You may find some help there since we have the same truck from the 2nd row of seating forward. I have taken the interior apart enough to know most of it and may even have some extra parts you might want. i.e. lower console bezel to mount a screen in or GM faceplate for the square hole next to the HVAC controls and that kind of stuff.Originally Posted by pip

Example, motorized LCD, invertor stuff. Your right about the price, I was lucky to still have my amps and a nice laptop, that made the project a little more realistic. I couldn't imagine spending a grand or so just to start out, even if it is cheeper than buying a bunch of alpine equipment that basicly did some of the same things.
the only items I have purchased for the project are the LCD, MB and DC-DC PS. They where purchased seperatly over 4 years. Everything else I had from old PCs.

Nice, the liliput was by far the most expensive item, the AC300 was originaly a 1000, but picked it up at car toys for 55 buck, heck of a deal, my usb sonica was 9 bucks of of Ebay.sima invertor, 45, picked that up at microcenter in denver. That store has it all. I'v spent about 350 or so, but it doesnt include the laptop, two alpine amps, infinity speakers, I already had, thank god.
How do you like having that large display? Any pics?
No digital camera (short on extra $) It is a 14" MAG LCD for a desktopIt was onsale for $180 I could not pas it up. Before that I was running with no display at all.
I am thinking of a character LCD for the little truck. I really do not think the big display is worth the hassel. Mostly because I do not watch movies.

I'v seen some pretty good post dealing with those small LCD's, it seems like they can be a pain to setup, but cheep and funcional.
