where are some good places in aus for the car pc stuff?

Mobo, processor, RAM, gps receiver shouldnt be too hard to find. (either ebay or aus store)

but i cant find stores that stock the M2-ATX, or the in dash screens....

(note: meddler: that link for the m2atx wont post to aus)

oops didnt even think about the mp3car store.... im used to most forums being US and not posting to AUS.

Are the prices comparable to purchasing in AUS?
(yes i could check it out myself, but im at work atm and just got time for this reply )

and if its about the same at the store, i might as well purchase it there then, cos i can get alot of support if needed!!!

No idea on if the prices are good or not. I have bought stuff from the store before and the service has always been top notch.

mobo i can prob get a bit cheaper locally.

but thanks for the info meddler, its helped me out!!!

    on a side note:

whos running a VIA EPIA board?
cos ive heard theres some limitations with what u can run on em....
    (Prob M10000, 1Ghz proc)

i was planning on definately using:
    - GPS

    - Music Video
    - Movie (avi)
    Optional
    - Reverse camera
    - OBD2

    Would these go ok?

    Count me in!

MacMini with a 700IDT here (OBD, DTV and GPS coming soon).

I've only got 2 tidbits in terms of parts procurement (our biggest issue here IMO)

CDT.com.au sells 700IDT's (for slightly inflated prices).

For fellow aussie mac users, Shoreline Computer Solutions (google it) sell P1900's
and have great delivery times. (no affiliation etc.)

Both are a great way to dodge that nasty GST surcharge... Not to mention import tax if you've gone over the 1k allowance.

Hey guys, me and a few of the boys over at toymods.net (a toyota forums)are trying to organise a bit of a bulk buy of some xenarcs, just testing the waters to see if anybody would be interested? Probably looking to bring over 5 screens and here is the suppliers response/quotation:

    Yes, $405 +S/H. I did a calculation on the USPS.com website, and
shipping looks to be about $240USD with insurance. This may vary a bit
depending on box size. It may be cheaper to send two medium sized boxes
instead of one large oversized box, in which case we will do that.

So, total will be $2265, or $453.00 each. I'm not sure if wire transfers
are easier for you, but we do accept them. They are cheaper than VISA/MC
at these prices. Let me know what you're most comfortable using.

So, who's interested? Approx 575$ landed in Sydney, then an extra say 10$ approx to courier it to you, or pickup in sydney could be available. Thats a pretty good deal for a top quality screen guys

Also, it will be an extra 45$ if you want the 5 meter Xenarc Cabling , as the stock cabling is 5 foot. http://www.pandainnovations.com/stor...product_id,55/
Basically just gauging interest and trying to round up a few more people. Either send me a PM or reply here if you like the sound of this.

Boris> Just FYI, I got mine from cdt.com.au in Melbourne.
You can haggle with them. Tell them approx how much itll cost you in Aus dollars to buy from the USA Xenarc shop and see if they will match or come close.

Not that i have personaly meet any of them but they are roomered to exist. My current ride is a gen3 WH Statesman, no PC yet but it was only 4 weeks ago i started thinking about this whole concept so I'm a full on newbie. i have ordered my pc off ebay awaiting delivery..... next item is a screen, probably a 8" widescreen would do the job, got some decent DLS amps and subs to pair up with.
