G'day.. Inverters are energy in-efficient. You should buy a specific built power supply and regulator that is designed to run car pc's.. Like Morex branded ones.. They work fine.. I've had 2 of them.
I haven't been to a Carpc meet in ages.. I'm getting one of those all in one head units put in so i guess i'm not running a car pc perse.. More like a head unit that runs WinCE.

Dont have time to read this whole thread at the moment but thought I'd put my hand up - I've been off the forums for a while but getting back into things... I should also change my screen name thinggy as I dont have a fairmont anymore... Got a Subi Liberty..
I've had a fully functioning CarPC for ages now but keep blowing screens.. Should have one of Revolution System's new 7" dual din's arriving this week or next *gets impatient* and then I'll be back in the game
Never been to a meet but would love to at some stage
Thornbury area, Melbourne here! Would love to organise a catch up for CarPC guys and gals. Trying to think of an easy to get to central location?????
Hey Koched - First of all Welcome

I really wanna play with a few carPC systems before i put one in my rig.

I've got a setup and a 1/2! 1.8ghz, 8 inch touch, 2 x pionner amps, 10inch sub, 4 speaker setup, Centrafuse, OZImaps, HQCT radio module (which is doing my head in!), reverse camera, all squeezed into my 4WD.
Sounds good. I wanna build one. would love to catch up sometime and take a look.
I have seen a carPc running on a bench, but not in a car.
