Could be dodgy bearing but if it's intermittent get a free brake check done. Does sound as theough they are binding. The wobble is probably due to the brakes now being a a bit *****ed as they have got too hot. Probably a new set of discs and pads and a bit of a clean up needed.

    yep, my thoughts exactly.

although only had the discs and pads replaced last year.

However have just upgraded from 15" alloys to 17" alloys, so thinking of getting bigger disks and calipers anyway.

    You pikey!

Get it looked at ASAP. I drove all the way to Liverpool from Barry (south wales) witha freyed handbrake cable that caused one of my rear drums to be permanantly on - was so lucky if didn't cause a fire - but i was lucky as drums are ****e and can't stop a turd.

Saving up for a set of discs for my pug now as i have a very slight vibration on hard braking on the motorway.

So tempted to go to the meet. hmmmm might pop along ont he sunday if the car is running ok. Took it up to the wirral at the weekend - 1st big trip since i rebuilt it.

Come to the meet! See a Pug with decent discs

Would be good to compare installs, I'll be the only 306 driver there I think as Caitlin can;t go anymore - shes abondoning us all and going to dreary Mexico - deserter

Got to change the front fog bulbs this weekend, got to remove the whole ****in front bumper to get to them, either that or teach my hands to do yoga.

What install???? If i hadn't had to rebuild my pug i would have a complete install now instead of a collection of parts and too many ideas and not enough cash!

Caitlin - you loser! I don't know, buggering off to Mexico. If you want, I ill borrow your pug when i am up north next weekend and take it to the meet.

Bring the parts with you, others are bringing incomplete installs with them to do work on them whilst there.

One thing i really want to see is how bright your screens are and have aplay with someone install

I have had another idea - using one of those cheap linITX non-TS monitors (139) right upfront and using an idrive type system. Will get a full 400nit brightness then and not have to look down at the dash to use the PC. Jsut an idea.

damn it must be the time of the year - yesterday had a grating sound on my passenger side brake disks - the inner pad was gone (other 3 front pads were OK, had a few thou left), and on further inspection the outside of my tyre's had also worn down almost completely.

129 for the pads/disks/fitting (I already knew it was 100 just for parts from research last night)

Then thought may as well have the front tyres done, they needed doing soon anyway and were illegal on the outside - they wanted 159 a tyre!!! I remembered the place I usually go is ~120 and they did it for that... On the way back though I rememered it was 124 + VAT So I saved a bit there - and they checked and fixed the tracking at no cost...

    Still 359 down though

I alwyas either go the local ATS (Get discount) or National Tyres - both do good prices.

Just picked up a new backbox and centre for 120 + VAT from ATS, everyone else was quoting double and it appears to be exactly the same.

159 a tyre!!!! crikey!!! What size?

Have a look at the tyre section in autotrader - it lets you choose the tyre you want and the prices seem pretty reasonable. I picked up a couple of Falken 195-50 R15's for 31 each from Eurocarparts and then paid some local geezer 10 CIH to fit and balance them - and he did a good job and they are pretty nice tyres.

Gareth, i have a spare cat and middle box (done 7K) that i got for 1 and a genuine pug back box for 20 off a guy on ebay - no-one else bid! Thought for a 1 the cat is worth it - i would kick myself if mine ever went. 120 new and fitted for mid and rear is pretty good though. When i eventually get a decant car i am going stainless - not worth the bother of fitting a crappy mild steel one agian.
