I definitely plan on making it to this meeting. I will be coming from Conyers in a '04 red F150. I am looking forward to checking out all the different projects and showing off my “cheap & functional” system.

Grr...I just found out I can't make it. I have to watch ALL the kids (mine and my sister-in-laws). *sigh* I'll just have to hold out for the next meet.

Oh the plus side, I just got my new laptop (which I'm typing this on)!!! I'll have to get the rest of the interfaces that will turn it into a carputer a little bit later down the road (I spent a little more on the laptop than I was planning).

We'll be there with the DW Jetta, but we won't be demo'ing the DashPC. Instead, we'll be showing a Via carputer (with DashPC software installed).

It's too bad that the local weather has been, and will continue to be pretty ****ty until the meet. I guess it sucks to be our detailer...

Ok, so just to review. Meet is still on for 2pm March 19th at GM Training Center in Alpharetta, Georgia? I have some family stuff and a Game to make later in PM but I am going to try and make it if not just for a bit. To get some ideas from you master fabricators

On that note, I'll let everyone know that in the back of the building we have a substantial overhang that will keep us dry. My boss has requested that we not move inside (insurance, safety, liability, etc, etc). We'll play it by ear depending on the number of attendees.

We have drills and sockets (and labscopes & DVOMS)... but as mentioned above, the boss has asked that we remain outside. If I find it easy enough to manage, then I can break out some tools.

I just don't know that I could juggle tools for 30 odd guys and I'm taking a risk even offering them for this "event". We'll play it by ear. If you're crashing with me, I've got over $15k in (metric) tools at home - I was an automotive tech in a previous life.

If you guys need to get ahold of me (James) for directions or anything, my cell number is 678.907.3512.

If this event is successful, meaning we don't have any problems/trouble, I imagine I can get my (softy) boss to ease up on the restrictions for future events.
