Harbor Island Park - Parking Lot pics

Costs $5 on the weekend to get in.

A classic car club called "Wheels of Time" was having their weekly cruise night and had one of the smaller lots reserved for them. I inquired what one might have to do in order to reserve a portion of the lot for a meet, and was told that it would require:

- application with the town of Larchmont
- have to go in front of the town board
- would be very helpful to have a Larchmont resident plead the case to the town board

The parking situation sucks.

tj!2k4, do you have any pictures of the park you suggested? How much futher north is that park from the ones in New Rochelle?

It seems like Harbor Island would be the only reasonable one, even with the entrance fee. $5 is more than I am going to be spending on gas, so its not that much. And its a heck of a lot less than having my car towed, like it seems it would be in the other lots.

Now, is this meet going to be large enough to be in need of a permit? And even then, would we really need one, if we are not reserving a lot?

Well, of the Mamaroneck area parks, Harbor Island would be the only reasonable one, although I don't know how hectic it'll get on a weekend - and I imagine it'll get hectic. Amongst other things, there is a boat launch, as well as ball fialds. I guess the only way to really know is to go there on a Sunday.

I don't have any pics of FDR Park.. yet. I'll go either tomorrow or Thursday and do some recon. There are multiple large lots there, so I'm pretty sure it'll be our best bet. It is located off the Taconic State Parkway, by Yorktown, NY. I'll have to refer to S&T to tell you how far is is from say.. Harbor Island to FDR..

Yorktown is going to be a longer drive from the city. Anyone got any suggestion to little more south.
btw: I don't mind paying the $5 fee if there will be enough space for us.

Hey Guys/Gals, I'm really psyched about this meet...
First one for me. I have a Denali Yukon with a slamming system...
Can't wait to see what everyone has!
For a meeting place anywhere is good, let's stop whining about the place...
There's a lot of cars/bikes meeting up in Yonkers... Why not there?! It's close to everyone, the closer to the city the better for everyone in the region.
