i was concerned about the gwb because I tried to go to the NY meet a few weeks ago and got stuck in 2.5 hrs of traffic and missed it. it took 15 mins to get back.

Ok, so has anybody checked to see if the Mets are playing at home on the 28th? If they are and some folks decide to come to the meet around opening pitch time, then they might run into a little bit of traffic.
It's not about the caffeine. We ran into the same issues when the last meeting place was being decided on. I mean, seriously, if it's going to come to this everytime a NY/NJ/CT meet is going to be planned, we might as well start separate meets for each borough, county and state.
Realistically, if we were to map each member's location and find the weighted central point of the resulting polygon, then it would be somewhere in Queens. The question is, is it fair for everyone? Is it fair that everytime a meet is held, that it be held in Queens or LI?
I can only imagine what the NY/NJ/CT group will look like for the planned Ruston meet.
bottom line i think would be if everyone enters thier zip code we triangulate this SOB and wherever the ball lands quit *****in.
i drove from li to the last meet and nj the one before i wasnt really ready to go to the one on li although i did want to i missed it therefore i dont complain. i pay way more for gas then well. All of you im sure v8 350 engine couple tons of weight. if i can drive to nj for the 2nd to last meet then i think if you really want to come you'll be there.
Another suggestion would be anyone who has complained about the location and hasnt come (for reasons besides traffic etc of course) to past meets when scouting a final location if by entering ppls zip codes those people should be considered last.
Its like this. If your going to be there. You WILL be there. if your from nj and you werent at BND's meet then please dont complain. if your from PA it is pretty much the same thing. Lastly if your from CT, the one person who is has been to the last 2 meets. so dont complain either
We all live in the tristate area lets face it most major events take place in or close by NYC. thats just the way it is. I don think you all would be complaining that the car shows take place at the Jacob Javitz center. if u really wanted to go youd be there.
Consider this one last point. This meet, its not like theres a cover charge or that you pay for tickets. but its just as good as if you did. Reason being. with all the money and time you have or will be spending on the creation of your CarPC the amount of knowledge and help you will recieve at the meet will well be worth the trip. consider that you paid for a ticket to the meet and if your dont go you WILL be missing out </rant>

WOOH, I just really looked at where this fdr park really is.... wow.... now I can see why all the *****in...It's 40 miles north of the whitestone bridge.... I assumed it to be somewhat within range of the last meet, but this is quite up there....
not saying I won't go if it is there....but if there is going to be a vote then I'd have to at least vote for corona
I think the more people the better....if everyone wants to stay local to them then there will be much smaller seperate meets.... but to have a larger turnout we've gotta include a larger area......which means meets should be varied.... everyone will have one that is close to them at some point & a bit farther at other times......
if you want to really be considered a tri-state meet then they should vary.... from north (already done twice) to south (still waiting) to east (covered at li meet) to west (still waiting as well)
this is just my 2 cents worth of input.....there are so many ways to view this & so many diferent opinions..... let the bickering resume......

cough i mean i see the point in havig more ppl in corona than fdr park, and i'm in for whatever location th tristate has to offer. I'm so used to driving (i commute 2 hours each way to work) that by the time i would get tired i'd be in ohio or something. So i'm up for kape may as wellAs lostreception sad it really right it's not about the distance, it's about the attitude you have, and the effort you're willing to put in it to get information that may bve of huge value to you. It's way worth it. And seeing the meets recently, it's going uphill here... We have more ppl, and mor interest and all. Soon we will have our own carshow. Believe me... :cheers:
