Hey guys! I'm just checking in... letting you know that I still exist. Haven't done much in the way of carpc's since my last one was jacked two years ago. I'm thinking about resurrecting my set up, though! Most of it is still sitting on the floor behind me! I wonder if it still works... Hmm...

I never finished (well hardly started) mine. But I've been working on it last month. Having some fabrication setbacks but moving forward again, at least.

Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum but very well known around town as Zero Cool on other forum boards. I couldn't get that name her for some reason.

I am a pro audio systems design engineer with 25 years exp.(yes im an old guy) and I have a repair shop in Edina. I specialize in Solid State amplifier repair, pro and home amps. not car audio.

I have done some design work for mazda factory radios and have a number of mods i do for them. I also do some mods for Nakamichi brand decks and working on a few new mods for that as well. I am currently studying bus protocols and MCU device control.

I am interested in meeting others that have interest in hardware design and or code writing and MCU programming for some special projects with commercial applications. if you can bit bang a protocol on a CDC buss or program a Pic, Stamp, Atmel etc and actually have ambition and drive to do something... then we should talk.

I would be interested in knowing about any local gatherings as such for carputer discussions.

I am always looking for old school vintage high end type car stereo stuff as well. Nakamchi decks, Old sony, denon and eclipse decks with the 13pin cdc port. soundstream d-series amps, afs kriket speakers, Linear power amps, old carver and HK amps, stuff like that working or not. not rockford, kraco, pyramid, etc.

Any chance you guys are interested in setting up a meet for Sunday August 16th? I'll be in MN the 15th for another meet and always up for meeting new people in the carpc world.

I don't know if anyone is around Frazee, MN, but thought I would post in your meets thread just in case

There is a car show this Saturday, 7/30/2011 in down town Frazee. It is the "Tyler Shipman Memorial Car Show". It is in memory of an 18 year old that passed away from cancer in February of last year. The car show is open to ALL cars, motorcycles ect. The feature car of the show is the Pontiac Fiero. I would love to see some cars in the show with CarPC's installed!

The entry fee for the show is $10, and goes to the Tyler Shipman Scholarship Fund. There are MANY trophies in all different categories that will be awarded out.
