One thing is for sure guys... if you need a Pro DJ to provide the music/entertainment... you know who to call![]()
For everyone who doesn't wany to drive, think of the drive as a "run". We'll all caravan down the highway with radios.
As for going someplace with "something else to do". Why? I'd be going just for the run and the meet. I'm sure a 100 of us come cook up our own entertainment in whatever city we're in.
I vote SLO, Pismo, etc. or Fresno, etc. (Central Coast or Central Valley). One place that may have space is Paso Robles. The have the mid-state fairgrounds there. If we're willing to give up going to an "exciting place", maybe pick something in the middle of the state on I-5.
My worklog.

I think we need to define our goals. If we want a large gathering/festival that many non-mp3carer's are going to come to, we need to hold it in a large populous area. I highly doubt we'll have much of a turnout in Paso Robles. Maybe the best idea is to split it into two groups and have one in San Jose and one in LA or San Diego?

Right, if the "general population" is the goal nothing in the Central Valley or Cental Coast will do it, except maybe Fresno which is surprisingly (to those that didn't grow up there like me) large. The population in the city limits is a little less than 500,000 and the greater metro area is about 1,000,000.Originally Posted by jrtf83
Other than that two separate meets would work fine too. Maybe we'll get a caravan from each end to visit the other's meet.

I'd love to come to the meet/festival.
BUT, I'm only willing to drive as far North as San Luis Obispo and South as far as Tijuana.
I also like kbyrd's idea of having two separate meets and organized caravans for them.

I can't really take the credit for that. Two meets was mentioned earlier in the thread, and recently by jrtf83.Originally Posted by DJiK

I think we will have two. California is big and I know it takes 8 hours or so to drive between San Fran and LA. One in LA/San Diego on the 5th and then another one Northern California in the Bay Area on a week later on November 12th. Of course people can come to both.Originally Posted by jrtf83

I havn't lived in LA yet so I think I'll sublet someone's apartment for a while and check it out.
My bad for the original idea's author, I didn't notice who it was.Originally Posted by kbyrd
That sounds pretty good. As long as the budget allows...Originally Posted by Zip-Lock
