March hey.. Yeah I know.. maybe set one for September sometime.. I should have my laptop all rigged up by then. Sorry I don't get on here much anymore.. Occassionally I jump on and see what's going on. Young kids can take up a lot of your spare time that once was occupied with car pc's and arcade machines..

Also has anyone in here found a better GPS software to use rather than Destinator via Map monkey?

The other day I put net stumbler int he car and went for a drive. I had it log all the ap's that my pc card could see then I could check them out on google maps.
So if you got Netstumbler on your pc in your car,log the ap's to a file and convert em.

Hey you VIC carpc people. I have a good deal for anybody wanting a complete system to put in a car.. I currently have a Dell Lattitude C610 which is P3 1GHZ running windows xp with wireless built-in, 512mb ram and even a docking station to put under your seat. Runs sweet in the car. It's got VGA out, SVIDEO, USB's, Ethernet 10/100, onboard sound (that allows you to control bass and treble) and even a modem.. etc etc.. ideal as a fully built ready to go carpc system. All you need is the car AC adapter which you can pickup for about $25AU. I'm asking $300 for the laptop, bag and docking station. I'll even throw in a new lithium battery so you can run 2 batteries flat before you need a recharge. This is what I think a realy good deal. If anyone in Melbourne's interested in this email me and I can arrange something.

    email: carpc@nidz.net

cheers people.. I haven't realy had the funds to keep my carpc going lately but I've been messing around with one of these laptops myself and they work great. The docking station makes it a breeze to put in the car and take out cause you don't have to unplug any wires.

It has a cover to hide all its uglyness, but here she is in her glory.

Dont have any good photos on the web, but I do have this that I was using as a example of the system being capable to run GPS in the front, video in the back and PS2 on the other back screen (or any combination thereof)... Photo sucks though.

Lets organise another NOVEMBER meet... maybe we can get the word out...

    Cheers,
