If you decide to come here, I will definately try to get something organised. At least we can go out for that beer.
The last Sydney meet was early last year. I think it was about March, so yeah, it's been a while.

Hey M^ck^y i've been reading up on AT commands and all that and i think i've found out a perfect solution for us Windows Mobile people
Im thinking of making a program that u run on the actual PPC which will use the standard windows mobile commands and actually send the info from the phone to the pc not the other way around like the other programs
This will allow all windows mobile phones from 2003 to WM5 and up to all work the same without messing with AT commands
When a sms comes in this program in the background will send this through the serial connections say bluetooth to the pc which will read the serial port and store the sms into a database and will notifiy you on the pc screen
When a call comes in this will communicate to the pc and mute the sound and allow the pc to pick up the phone
Also get the addressbook and copy it each time to a database to update each time the program on the phone is set
And this program can read commands sent by the pc with the phone number and use the internal windows mobile api commands to make calls
This would fix any problems with sync of the phone to address list not updating
If i ever get time to do this who knows but it looks like a viable solution for PPC users

hey Nin, althought my time is a little limited, I'd like to help out with this. I have just got a WM5 phone (O2 Atom actually). I was going to use an old nokia on prepaid with PhoneControl but if this could work, it solves the whole problem with having another phone number for the car.
If we need to write software, this will give me an excuse to put the C++ course I am doing at TAFE to good use..

Thats the problem with me to my time is limited altho i did find a commandline for rapistart.exe that can dial if the PPC has powertoys installed
And i've found some nice lil tidbits of sourcecode for getting sms list and address list etc
It's all there available just need time to put them all together

Hey guys, was great to meet some of you and have a good chat and look at some of your systems!
Sorry I had to leave suddenly, had to visit a mate's place to watch the grand prix!

G'day Guys,
Great to meet you all today. The carputer installs were very impressive and the WOW factor was enormous !! As good as these forums are, there's nothing like seeing things in the flesh and chatting about issues face to face. Very valuable indeed.
My pleasure - happy to help. Warning though: If you leave the next one up to me, it will be out Keilor way !!
Pictures in a matter of moments. I see there's a "Post Meet Threads" section. Not sure if I'm meant to put them in there, or whether they'll be OK to put in here. Any thoughts ?
Cheers,
Long.1
