You can try to use and it kinda works, but I don't think its going to ever work perfectly for most vehicles.

wow... this is all a big dilemma.

i have a 2002 Audi Allroad... i think this is just before the CAN-bus for VAG cars, no? At any rate i'll order the SWI-X anyway... i NEED my steering wheel controls. :)

FWIW i do have a VAG-COM. i wonder if that will be of any help here?

ok i ordered the SWIX and it does NOT work for my 2002 allroad.... apparently my car DOES use the CAN-BUS so i'm screwed on steering-wheel controls.

Not if you get the SWI-CAN interface which converts the CAN-BUS signals into something the SWI-X can interpret to then output the required Infrared signals for the G4.

So your car CAN-BUS wires connects to the SWI-CAN, the SWI-CAN connects to the SWI-X and then the SWI-X outputs Infrared to the G4.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...
