1 - Not with the StreetDeck software.
2 - It's an external receiver/antenna that is connected to the G$ with a wire.
3 - Yes.
4 - Yes, they do.
I really liked the G4 and seriously thinking of buying it but I have a couple of questions to ask.
1- Are there maps for the Middle East available that would work with the GPS? If so how can I install/download those maps.
2- Is the GPS device located in the G4 or is it a separate device that I would have to place in the car or on the car and then connect it to the G4?
3- Is it possible to install divx codecs for the dvd player so then I can watch data discs without the need to convert them to dvd format?
4- Do you accept international orders?
How can I install Middle East maps, or do you know where I can find maps that will be able to be configured with G4?
Where is the external receiver/antenna placed? In the car or would it be placed on the top of the car.
Thanks for the prompt response.
As far as I know, there are no Middle Eastern maps for MS MapPoint, which is the base of the SD navigation.
GPS placement really depends on the vehicle.
I don't use a G4, and as such have a different GPS. But mine sits on my dashboard. In some vehicles the andle of the windshield or the window tinting or other factors may make this a less-than-ideal location. For some, mountin the GPS receiver outside the car is the only option. You'll likely have to experiment.
Since MS MapPoint currently doesn't support Middle Eastern maps is it possible to install another software similar to MS MapPoint that supports Middle Eastern maps (I have no idea if a similar software exists); and would that void the warranty?
For example (mute mp3s when giving routing instructions, skip audio tracks with a gesture while in nav mode)
Yea I wouldn't mind not having those options, do you know of any mapping programs that would support middle east maps, if you could just list me some programs and I'll check if they support middle east maps.
Check the GPS sub forum here on the forums. I'm sure there are others from your area who have posted the same questions in there.
