What are ALL of the wires on the G4 harness?

It was easy enough to figure out what MOST of the wires are, but there are still a few shown that are not described. So far the manual and this site list the following:

    Green/Black - Rear Left Negative
    Green - Rear Left Positive
    White - Front Left Positive
    White/Black - Front Left Negative
    Purple/Black - Rear Right Negative
    Purple - Rear Right Positive
    Gray - Front Right Positive
    Gray/Black - Front Right Negative
    Light Green - Reverse Gear
    Orange/White - Illumination
    Pink - Attenuator
Brown - Remocom - This is for steering wheel control
    Blue - Antenna Turn On
    Light Blue - Hand Brake
    Blue/White - Amplifier Turn On
    Red - Accessory

But where is the ground? Also what is the thick yellow wire in this picture?

My GMOS-LAN-06 harness is looking for a yellow 12v constant coming out of the G4, but I didn't want to assume that just because there is a yellow wire it is what I was looking for. Attached is the .pdf for the harness is that is helpful.

    Hi JasonMK,

The thick yellow wire is the +12V constant power. The red is the +12V ignition hot wire. The black wire is the ground.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks Rip, that's what I assumed...but you know what they say about when you assume. Odd that they left that out of the latest draft of the manual.

Next time you find a problem with the Manual - please post it in the thread where I've posted the manual and asked for feed back.

It's easy to skip over those wires because they are the same for EVERY head unit on the market and is considered a standard.

Thanks so much, I hadn't thought of that.

I did assume it was something that everyone else new, but me. Glad I asked and even more glad to get an answer. Thanks for the help and amazingly quick response. I'm glad I bought my G4 from a company this on the ball, just can't wait for it to arrive!

I know this is an old thread, and I am not too optomistic that anyone will respond...but just in case. What do I do if the [Ford] factory "yellow" wire is much thinner than the thick yellow one on teh G4 harness? Th emanual says
Yellow – Power. This wire must be
connected to the battery in the car.
Do NOT splice this wire into a wire of
a smaller gauge. Doing so will risk
the unit not operating properly and
could cause an electrical fire. If the
wire in the factory harness is the
EXACT same gauge as the wire on
the G4 harness, splicing into it will
    suffice.
Do I just buy some thicker wire and connect it straight to my battery?

That would be your best option, IMHO.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Although the yellow (constant) should not be taking much current - it is only for memory, clocks etc.

It seems odd then that the yellow is so thick with the red wire (acc) so thin on the harness.
