    Question

Will you supply the G4 with the infill software cd's? I wouldn’t mind looking at what they have engineered up.

...Also this might be a stupid question but will you provide us with recovery cd's for the OS and the streetdeck software?

    Thanks.

Is there anyway to use an ipod or other mp3 player with the G4?

    Thanks

it won't work with SD. But adding another bluetooth adapter which sound make this compatible correct??
You can run myltiple BT devices. The BT stack for phone support is what's being discussed here.

I'm not sure I understand your later comment though.

Question Hard drive upgrade? AM radio reception?

I am extremely likely to buy the G4, but I have 2 questions:

1.) I need a larger hard drive than 40GB. I have about 30GB of FLAC audio files currently, and I still have a bunch more of my CDs that I am re-encoding in FLAC instead of MP3. I will get to about 40GB just with those, and it doesn't even take into account the OS itself, or the GPS maps and all the other software. So: Will Mp3car.com offer a hard drive upgrade? I will gladly pay a premium for this rather than going through the huge trouble of taking it apart and voiding my warranty - not to mention that I'll have to separately buy a larger hard drive. I would want at least a 120GB hard drive.

2.) How is the AM reception? Many non-stock head units I've used have *awful* AM reception. I often listen to AM talk shows often while driving to/from work, and this is very important to me; music is great but not all the time.

    Thanks!

1.) You can also hook up an external hard drive through USB and it will work just the same, not void your warranty, and allow you to bring it inside to transfer stuff. You just have to remap your media paths with the included tool.

2.) All I can say is FM reception is fantastic. I never listen to AM so I can't say if its worse then typical, but to me it seems to just fine.

Thats the final retail price, I think there is going to be an online coupon for the first few units sold though.

Hmmm... maybe I will do that. Though I really want to keep the extra connections to a minimum.

But I find it incomprehensible that for a device over $2000, and that is dedicated to being your car's media library, there is only a measly 40GB hard drive that can barely fit more than the OS and GPS maps. A drive 3X the size would only raise the hardware cost by about $30, and it should at least be an option. I guess this is just the fault of Infill.

Barely fit more then the OS and maps? The os and maps take up less then 10% of the drives space. You can fit up to 7000 typical mp3s in the remaining space. Granted there are a lot of ways that space can still be filled, but the people who will easily fill it for its designed use are in the minority.

I don't know where you are getting your numbers from, but to offer it with a 120 gb hard drive standard would add at least $100 to the retail cost and its only that cheap if it was the only way it shipped and not an option.

BUT if we buy the G4 and later on want to add more HDD space...we can just purchase a 120GBlaptop HDD from lets say Newegg.com and install it into the G4? WE just have to figure out how to open it....
