    LOL
    man this is funny.

    How about you just power your USB hub?
    USB = 5v
    Car = 12v

    Go to Jaycar or tandy or whatever say you want a 5v voltage regulator. $3 later you have a powerd USB hub.

    No, you just have to request a license transfer using your G4 order id same as you would if you bought the software stand alone.

    Removable drives will show up only when you plug them in under the DVD drive.

    I'm not sure what you mean by that.

    If you goto the music start module, there is a section call removable drives. This where your USB drives should be shown. It is the same place your DVD drive will be shown. USB drives will only show up when they are plugged in though.

    My USB hub is powered but still won't give sufficient power to my external HD. However, you can use the same solution to power the external HD itself.

    Same here... even when powering the hub the HD doesn't work. Looks like for WD Passport drives, you may need their special USB cable that also has a power input: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/acces...asp?ProdID=170

    Assuming I don't break anything, I think will be happier with the 120GB HD I'm replacing the stock HD with. I just wish that on the mp3car.com store page, they had made it clear that the USB hub would not work for USB hard drives - that way I could have it all working a lot faster than having to wait until sometime next week for the replacement drive to arrive (since I would have ordered it long ago).

    The USB hub currently sold as an option with the Infill is just a generic USB hub. Whether your hard drive works or not depends not only on the drive you use, but also the other devices you have hooked up to the hub.

    It doesn't work even when the HD is the only device on the hub.

    In fact I had to replace the hub anyway because the one sold online here is too flaky - when I have bluetooth + wifi + keyboard + mouse all on the hub, they all stop working in less than a minute (but sometimes last up to half an hour). I grabbed another USB 2.0 hub and it works fine (but still not for the HD of course).

    Nothing shows up in the Removable Drives section other than "iPod" (which I don't have) and the DVD drive. I have scrolled all the way to the bottom.

    Also when I choose to browse my hard drive, it only shows what is in the "E:\My Music\_Indexed" directory (so just the 3 default songs that come with the G4). I see no way to navigate to a different directory or to a different hard drive.
