    2014 Future In-Car App

I have been working on an idea to bring more relevance to how we interact with apps inside our vehicles. I'm interested in this because I have been working as a designer for 15 years and in the past 5 years specializing in design for in-car HUD touchscreen systems and mobile phone clients that communicate with the vehicle. The product I have been working on is called Dashbox. It is a free app available for iPad and will also be available soon for iPhone and Android (mass market).

    Description
Dashbox is an app built for car, truck, motorcycle and all types of vehicle lovers and daily users. It brings all your content and in-car entertainment under one roof. Features include in-car gadgets, music, maps, video, calls, radio, widgets and much more for your ultimate driving experience. Unlock the retro speedometer and mount it to your dashboard or simply use our StreetView® maps feature. Keep up to date with current in-car trends by utilizing an app takes your driving experience to the next level.

You can view the first release of the app here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id56...ign-mpt=uo%3D4

This is not the end. This product code has been written for a multitude of future updates. Some of the next updates include the following features:
    • HandsFree® gesture control via your device's in built camera. No more looking at your device to control your music.
    • Voice/command control. Again another useful feature for safer in-car driving experiences.
    • MapMe® will hook you up with important points of interest for your long haul journeys or simply for your convenient day trips

The users are the most important part of this project and I am in the process of building a feature onto our website that allows them to be more actively involved in logging bugs, making suggestions, having feature requests and so on. This is fundamental to the working of Dashbox and to ensure it is built purely for the user and not for the designer. I hope you like it and if you do have feedback then you can contact directly from inside the app.

Instead of writing your own you should be joining forces with someone that has already built a framework and help make it better.

It was a previous framework that I bought from a developer because he could no longer manage the project and had also lost interest. However on close inspection, around 75% of the code was rewritten as it was not extensible... I am collaborating here with an awesome developer/engineer who comes from a robotics background... I say collaborating but I actually mean hiring to collaborate

Also to mention that it is a completely new product now. I have done a complete overhaul of the UX and UI deign both visually and in terms of flow and interaction.
