I apprietiate all your help Rob. My gutt feeling told me you were right about service pack and you were. When I formated my brand new hard drive, it installed off another computer. Now it is installed and working.

My only guess on why Vista would not install on the hard drive would be the last format was bad. Maybe you can tell me if this is a normal situation or not. Just so I know for the future.

Between you and Microsoft got it done. I have to say you were more helpfull than Microsoft.

Now my only problem is slip streaming SP2 into a Windows CD. I can not find a boot image that works.
Thank you for your time.>

Anthony,

We would like to help save you some time from shipping this back. What is the exact error message you receive when trying to install windows Vista? I understand there is a blue screen, but there should be a bunch of letters and numbers. This will help tell us what might be wrong.

If you don't want to work through this over e-mail, we can setup this RMA for you, but i am sure it would be much faster if Intel processes this for you. My guess is you would have a new board by the time you get back from vacation. Their e-mail is crmotherboard@mailbox.cps.intel.com.

If you don't want to work with Intel, we can also create an RMA number.

I have tried all options.

Intel suggested I use Windows XP SP2, that is above me, but tried Windows Vista. Along with suggestions that I have already tried.

I also have tried a different power supply, had the same luck.

I have tried a new Memory or Hard Drive(not sure what you mean).

I have a degree from ITT. I asure you I have done all I can to assure that this equipment is defective.

My time line is running and am taking a vacation. I would like to know if this can wait until I get back from it. (2 weeks)

Thank you

Anthony,

Before we can do an exchange, we need to exhaust all troubleshooting steps. Please answer both of these 3 questions.

1. Have you tried a new memory stick?
2. Have you e-mailed Intel? What did they say?
3. What type of power supply are you using? Have you tried a different supply?

Thanks,

Rob

I have talked to intel, and also have tried your tips. I cannot install windows vista 32bit or windows xp. I seem to be at a dead end. I would like to know how to exchange this product, thank you for your time.> From: store@mp3car.com> To: xxxxxxxx@hotmail.com> Date: Mon, 30 Jun 2008 13:39:29 -0500> Subject: RE: [Ticket#501-0798] Intel D945GCLF Mini-ITX Motherboard> > Anthony, > > What version of windows are you using? Anthony,

What version of windows are you using? What service pack? Do you have access to another memory stick? If we run out of options helping you we can also get Intel's support team involved. They are VERY responsive. (crmotherboard@mailbox.cps.intel.com)

Recently, I bought motherboard (Intel D945GCLF Mini-ITX). I have not been able to use this to install windows xp or windows vista. To me this motherboard is defective. I haven''t had any luck contacting Intel, and also have tried disableing everything in the bios, along with swaping each component. This is excluding the memory, but did try reseating it.

What I have seen from it is the blue screen of death (pci.sys error). This is were it loads initial drivers for the installation (In the initial blue setup screen).

If you have any thoughts of correction or replacement please give me a call. Thank you for your time in advance.
